Re: Texas Freight Massacre

Looks like you work for FEDEX not the company we are talking about DUHHHHHHHHHHH?

Well thats kinda what happens when you put you thoughts into a public forum, had you wanted just to hear from drivers at Bolt, you should have posted it in the "Bolt" forum, therefore we could only read what you said and not replied to it..But apparently you only want to hear from the drivers that agree with you, not the ones who have a different opinions...as for sitting over 200 hours..well in the last 11 years of doing this 48 hours is the max(unless I am at home)..So next time, if you want "Bolt" opinions....use the carrier forum, not the public forum.

Yes and I understand your point loyality counts and that is why i see few people speaking out against low rates, yes 200 hours since last loaded is not great took a move so reset some hours just out of frustration and lets see example: Seattle I dont think too many would deadhead back to Michigan out of their own pocket for example, soon you will be broke and bankrupt I been around long enough in business to know dollars and cents and realize that problems are out there, I know this but no one will condesend me and tell me I am not knowing my business I got some balls I speak out and just related a story and by the way right now there are at least 5 vans in the town I am in and moving for free to th close frieght area is 250 at least out of pocket and then for a 200 run I still lost 50.00 nobody drives and sleeps out here for to buy a bag of chips, I got alot of nice things including a home and a real nice car, but loose it all and I know as positive as many of you are, you are truthfully faced with the same dilema when you look in the mirror I think I was stating a truth not *****ing I as well as you all need things to be fair especially when we wake up in morning and put our butts behind the wheel and do this for what ?? to make money!
I guess now Bush is gone I can now just say the Lack of Frieght is Because of Obama!
I can come with excuses but all the formulas you have given I have tried as I know you have we know call companies and hand out cards is fine but don't we have signs and they don't pay us for sales work hell they dont pay us enough anymore anyways.
I talk to people everyday and see the worry in their eyes.

I also ran for Bolt, my last run to Tx was the 2nd week of Jan., ran from Savanna Ill. to Laredo. Sat less then 24 hours at the J, NO OTHER BOLT VANS or SPINTERS. Got a short run up to San Antonio then within 24 hours DH'd to Del Rio then loaded out to Densin Tx 400 miles.

I then sat in the Dallas area for about 36 hours and got out to the southside of KC, MO.

I looked back and since sept of last yr when I started, I was in Tx 3 times, each time I had a load within the state and then a load out. I haven't DH'd out of TX yet.
JOIN THE 5 Vans and 4 Semis down here and then talk!:D

If they are in bad financial shape, they certainly wouldn't be alone, but i wouldn't worry too much, I know the sales staff is keeping busy husling business too. And that leads to another thing, if you are worried about a lack of freight and the financial health of the company, how often do you talk to bboth shippers and consignees about them using Bolt and calling them direct instead of 3rd party? Jim Nagle is the sales manager and he will be more then happy to supply you with a fist full of his business cards. I call him with leads of companies I leave his card at 3-4 times a month.

It is against the rules to call on NLM which seems bulk what we run lately and Alliance boards as well its called BACK SALES!!
We are not employees of Bolt and Jacket isnt much when person calls off your card and you get paid 60 cents a mile.
Sure Sure!

So with all of that said, I have to ask, if you really feel bolt is screwing you over, and this is for both of the 2 complaining, why stay???

You gonna pay for people to get out of the town there are 5 vans here so you showed your sillyness. sure sure dead head 1600 miles home thats right newbie!

Can i ask you where you got the idea that business and life is ever "FAIR" ??

And as for not getting paid to talk to a shipper about using bolt , you get paid, when they ship with bolt......

So i'll ask again, why stay if you are this unhappy with the company? If I had an employee with any of my other businesses that felt as you do , I'd offer him a months wages and time off so he could go look for another job. I'd never work or contract to any company that I felt was going out of its way to screw me over as you feel bolt is doing....

And again, how does one gt on that "Fav" list??

Oha ns i am NOT going broke, I am doing just fine.......didn't get into this to get rich or to go broke, i am not doing either one of those, but i am making money........And no I don't support anything other then this business on what this business makes, didn't get into this to make my house payment or car payments or anything else, my household expenses do not get paid by this business at all.

Again............no need to complicate the simple.
Dump the employee mentality, and you just might find another world out there.
Simple as that.

1st in the few months i have done this, I have NEVER parked anywhere with anymore the 2 other BOLT vans in a lot. I'd simply move on if i did. As for DH'in 1600 miles home, lol since I stay out a minimum of 21 days, i don't DH home unless I am within 100 miles. My wife and I don't like each other that much anymore........:D

And yes Dave, you can always tell thise that have that "employee" mentality.............

Are you kiddin' me?

Ladies and gentleman, hoboes and tramps, cross-eyed mosquitoes, and bowlegged ants. I stand here before you, not behind you, to tell you something I know nothing about. Last night about 6:00 this morning, an empty truck loaded with bricks almost killed my dead cat. We rushed him to the hospital, slow as we could, only to find King Arthur, sitting at the fourth corner of the round table eating vinegar with a fork.

lets see example: Seattle I dont think too many would deadhead back to Michigan out of their own pocket for example, soon you will be broke and bankrupt .

The way to Deliver an Expedite load to Seattle -
is knowing that the load will pay a good income ,included the fuel needed to Dead head back to Chicago .

if the run take 5000 mil west and East back to the windy City ,
you get 10 MPG and pay 2$ a gallon ,
you will spend about 1,000$ on fuel , and it will take you about a week or so ,
knowing what you need to make in a week (+ car & house payments if one wishes to ) - and there you have it ,
if you get a load back East - that's great ,
if you are on a flat rate - chances are that you cannot afford to run on 50% DH for too long. (not talking WG/Elite ... K?)
same go's to any other black hole on the map .

Often times people work for just fun, I myself in a Sprinter brand new have payments and live my life, but cheap freight and low rates and wait times increased beyond control leaves writing B441 I have been with Bolt awhile I am just stating facts and reality, truth be told cheery one come on down and wait with me you would be 6th out and several vans all around in cities within 700 miles now who is so brilliant I have been last loaded at least 100 hours ago, so dispatch perhaps is mad at me as well hardly my friend my business model made top money last year but this year its not pretty so drink some more Koolaid and keep working are you retired and just doing this for a hobby and besides look at the posts you have, you got more than either one of us so who is sitting and posting? I run at great clip but lately it sucks and to be under some false delusion it is not perhaps you are a favorite or something? I personally hate low paying frieght got house payments like the other posters and can go anywhere I prefer stable enivorments and personally liked Blackwood's comments I don't even know him or you but he is 100% right there is a fish that is stinky laying at Bolt and I think he smelled it as well as I did
Thanks

If so, I concur.

Well obiviously B441 is lying!
I also drive for Bolt C 165 Here and I smell the fish as well!
Blackwood is right and I don't know why you are not finding so many vans lying around well I worked for Panther at one time and people also suffered from delusions of no vans in the area and told everyone they did better than that really did sound like the typical expeditors bull**** again.
200 hours I had 150 but I would move unless I was far off!
Seattle thats a bit far I would not deadhead and wait as long as funds would hold out.
There seem to be alot of guys around this business that don't need money I guess frieght is cheap lately and anyone saying different is lying I read this posting and had to sign on, this is crazy and throwing stuff at one another when people are trying to tell the truth is plain funny!
I have to laugh if you dont like it leave, I guess?

my business model made top money last year but this year its not pretty ...
I prefer stable enivorments

Don't tell me you don't know that in Expedite you need to use the "good times" to save up money for the "bad times"

Expedite is nothing close to "stable environment "

The nature of the beast is that you need to be competitive , you are competing for the same freight as owners that have a payed for Van , house and a meal .
some even have another income .
