I bet it was Dougy!
Pembroke, NY is populated by farmers and endless entrepreneurs who strive to come up with unique ways to sell firewood to campers on their way to Darken Lake. It's Boonieville. Far from dangerous. The big scary slick urban guy rolling out from under your truck probably dropped his lighter. Jeez Louise, people. The vast majority of New York - and a fair amount of New Jersey - is primarily farmland and countryside and people just trying to make a living and raise a family, not assessing you for recoverable resources.
I was not scared, I said it was strange. Who knows what he was doing under there. Keep in mind, this IS a truck stop. Where it may be located in no way makes it immune from the "stuff" that often goes on in truck stops.

You were not who I was referring to with that comment, sir.
You said he was "About 6' 4", 150LBS, medium dark skin black man, short hair. Wearing brown "scrub" type clothing. I did not notice his shoes."
That, my fowl killing friend, is a typical description of an urban guy. So saith a graduate of the Mel Brooks School of Common Sense.
Perhaps. But I must confess that your consternation about a lack of an accurate description of his shoes is perplexing.
It also discribes who knows how may truckers from all kinds of places, urban or other wise.
I am not sure why my not seeing his shoes bothers you, I was trying to see his face. Besides, I don't have a shoe fetish!
I also am not killing fowl right now, it's out of season!
