Speed cameras coming to Illinois work zones.

I despise the way they setup the work zones as much as anyone does. As mentioned, MI is a pain...and PA is the state I hate the most for the wz management, but still...I would rather err on the side of caution than risk someone's life...or get a wz speeding ticket.

I like the Work Zones in Texas. "FINES DOUBLE IN WORK ZONE. WORK ZONE SPEED: 70 MPH"

I live in Illionois near most of the Construction thats going down I 64, I 70 and I 55 and I have yet to see an actual PHOTO ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE, People speed thru work zones here like its not even there, if they dont see a cop car its foot down and GO GO GO.....Most of the traffic cameras in and around the area are embroiled in Legality issues and in courts there overturning the tickets, some places are even abandoning the cameras due to the legal costs they are incurring to defend the photos...

Already happening. Some of our drivers got tickets at the end of last school year.

I came up I-65 in Indiana this morning. There's a work zone just South of Demotte. People zipping through the WZ. All of a sudden everybody slows, there's four troopers giving out tickets just North of the WZ.

Chicago: I expect the Rahmulan Empire to be a mess. Ticketing cameras near parks and schools, well publicised so unless you're from way out of town you probably know about it. The city is broke, and even some of Rahm's supporters are calling this a cash grab.

Story on local news in St Louis the speed camera vans will be used day and night in construction zones near St Louis and other parts of the state. The state police says signs have been in place for months but actual enforcement begins this weekend first time fine is $375 and 2 nd ticket is $1,000 and if 2 nd ticket given within 2 years of the first ticket you lose your license for 90 days

Amonger, speed limit is speed limit. If one chooses to intentionally speed, how can they be mad at anyone else for getting ticketed?

Amonger it is not an old announcement it was on the local news in st louis a few days ago they had a state cop on and the story is also on www.ksdk.com. The clearly marked state police vans with speed radar and cameras start working this July 1 2012

Would your position be the same if the work zone speed limit was 10mph, or would you speed through it then?

If you're going to use a ridiculous argument, why not say, "Would your position be the same if they wanted you to go in reverse?" LOL... OMG!!...

Sorry, but it is just as simple as don't speed.

Yes, those nuisance cameras have been operating for a while, but those are not the work zone camera vans cited in the OP.

I am well aware of that the op was mine. It is still the subject of speed cameras.
