Hi,
I respect every ones oppinion, as farest I can said about the subject and this is just my oppinion, this is what I do:
I love music, so I take with me my accustic guitar, and my electronic key board, yes, I do have some other ways of entretainment on my truck, but if I play muy string instrument or my key board, I get far away of current problems and frustrations, it set me free of worries, tentions, dissapoinments and frustrations, it is a new world arround me, and I have to be playing them low, otherwise I will miss the c-link beep or the cell phone call (lol), this is what works for me, will it work for all of you? of course not, after all every one's life is a different world. And remember that no one is wrong, it is a matter of different oppinions.
Regards to all of you, and do not forget the main priciple. Be safe on your trips, have a faine ride and a safe one. JMHO.

I enjoy playing games from Realarcade. You can download the first hour as a trial for free and with membership you get a free game every month. Some of the games are mindless but a lot of them are fun! I spent so many hours on JewelQuest and Virtual Villagers!

My sister goes to pogo (run by EASports). Some of the games are free, but a lot of the games are Club Pogo. She said she can send out five day passes for all the games to try them out. I've played on her account a few times. Dang they're fun!

I have several games I play that can burn up hours and hours. I also enjoy movies quite a lot. Now that I have downsized to a Sprinter I can explore when I'm in an interesting area. I especially enjoy museums and old ships like Patriot Island in Charleston SC. I really really hate to sit but it is an opportunity to smell the roses. Did I mention I hate to sit? By the way, thanks for getting back on subject.

what to do? I am with Leo on this, Amateur Radio and Electronics. I guess it seems I spend a lot of time on line but that is dwindling more every trip. I also watch a lot of movies, but I have yet to see one all the way through on the weekdays, seeing I have gotten an offer every day this week.

I am not intending to change the subject here but I got to add that Phil's comments about teams have an easier time with a load is wrong. I won't go into why it is wrong but I find that rather an bad observation seeing he has never been anything but a team player. Phil's comments seem to miss the fact that as I have said before the oppertunities for all of us are not the same and what works for one does nto work for another. Being Solo does not seem to be a problem except with load offers - I don't get the 'big special' loads offered to me because I am not part of a team - but who really cares as long as I am making money.

Now how many of you are going to get your Amateur Radio license this year?

Greg: I thought that ATeam's comments about teams vs solo to be accurate - as far as the time it takes to do the work involved, which I think is all he referred to. You don't need to have done it both ways to know that it goes much faster if there are two people working, ie: one routing, while the other drives, etc.
I don't know about the load offer aspect, because I have no way of knowing about the loads I wasn't offerred, but it just makes sense that teams get the longer runs, doesn't it?

I watch movies while sitting got a nice big collection (600+) and with CD/DVD storage cases I can carry a nice selection with me. I also surf the 'net and chat with a few horse friends. I also bought myself some photo editing software and I play with some of my digital pictures. I'll clean them up, change backgrounds, etc. Last year I splurged a little and bought myself a TiVo so now I can record my favorite shows (that I used to miss while on the road) and download them to my laptop, it's nice cause I can also fast forward through the commericals.

Hi, kids. It's been a long while for me, but I'm back, expediting for Panther. IdleAire is a neat little gadget, too. Built in web browser, satellite tv, telephone......it helps pass the time for sure.....using the browser in Lodi, OH as we speak.

I keep my mountain bike in the back and go for rides.I've seen some pretty cool stuff that most drivers don't even know exists so close to truck stops ( lakes , rivers , forests etc ). Or maybe you v'e seen me roller blading in the ttruck stops. At 1st I felt a little funny about doing that but then I noticed all of the drivers just staring aimlessly out of those great big windsheilds. Anything to keep me physically fit and active. Man I HATE sitting and doing nothing FAST !!

Everybody has such great ideas. I'd like to try them all.

But, after I have delivered, I sit and bite my nails because I know that if I start something I will get called and I won't have enough time to get to my pickup on time. And when I finally realize that nobody is going to call me for a load, it's dark-30 and time for bed. Then, I wake up in the morning really early for a shower so that I don't have to wait in line or be afraid I'll get called while I'm scrubbing and then return to my truck and nap so that I will be rested to run hard for the call that never comes.

I'm such a loser. I'm so sorry. I sure wish I didn't have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (like Monk on tv)). Add the Adult Attention Deficit Disorder and I'm surprised I can get up and function every day!!!!!

I do have a good time, though.

Chet, you're not a loser, & you have nothing to be sorry for - I wish I looked like Sophia Loren, but we're none of us perfect, you know. As for starting something. if you get a load, just throw it all on the bed, & go - you can clear it up when it's time to sleep.
You know there are medications to help with OCD and ADD, & if you can have better living through chemistry, why not?

I've taken medicine for the OCD and everybody told me I was weird after using the medicine. I've discovered that driving a truck is the greatest therapy in the world for me.

As long as I don't sit..........

Sounds like perfect codrivers to me, lol - but seriously: when you took medication & everyone said you were weird, how did you feel? Cause that's what matters, not what anyone else thinks. Just my 2 cents
