Tennessee, like many states I am sure, falls short when it comes to open carry. Easy as hell to get a ccw permit, but only ccw permit holders are allowed to carry openly. Makes no sense and totally defeats the purpose, but nothing is perfect I guess.
In many states including New York, they illegally prosecute and imprison law abiding citizens regularly for doing things like possessing a handgun even if locked in a box in the truck and with no ammo even present in the vehicle at all, if they find it. Basically in NY and other similar states, in some cases there is not a single safe way to cross into the state with a handgun, period, without risking your freedom. They ignore all federal protections for travelers, blatantly, and get away with ruining honest hard working peoples lives over it. There have been many documented cases of this. They will put you in prison with a mandatory sentence for possession alone, and treat it no differently than if you had a kilo of heroin locked in a box in your truck.
Depending on where you are at the time, I wholeheartedly agree. And I am pretty sure he will be acquitted, and probably rightfully so. I don't know if he was in the right or wrong or if his version of the events are true or not, but it sure doesn't sound at this point like they have anywhere near enough real evidence to convince a jury unanimously beyond a reasonable doubt that he was not in fear and defending himself at the time the weapon was used, and thats all that should matter in the courtroom, really.
Tennessee has open carry. You can't have it concealed. I am from Tennessee and carried the last 5 years. Never had a problem.

The efficacy of wasp spray is highly overstated, and some states will consider it every bit the weapon as a gun.
Only thing that's legal when crossing the border with high dollar loads lol

Shoot to kill, live to tell.....a single well placed shot can be the difference between being a victim and a survivor..the choice is up to you....if your company says no weapons, CHANGE COMPANIES!!!...no one,......govt., employers,or dissenters has the right to violate your Constitutional right to KEEP AND BEAR arms...when the states violate the Constitution, the Fed. govt. must step in and say "STOP...YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTION".....when the Fed. Govt. violates the Constitution the citizens must stand up and say "STOP!!!!...YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTION!!!."....I say ...Give Me Liberty or die trying to take mine from me!!!!!!!!!...What say ye AMERICANS???????
Im not a violent person but, if I am ever robbed you can take my truck, my freight, and what little money and property I may have because that can be replaced. If you try to take my life, I have a god given right to take yours or take you with me.
God made the wild west, Smith and Wesson tamed it....

Just this last week, I had a questionable-looking guy approach me as I was getting out of my truck to inspect my trailer, so I had a crow bar in my hand. Crow bars are very versatile; they'll pull nails from floorboards, pull 5th wheel pins, thump tires--and skulls. I saw this guy's eyes travel down to the piece of steel in my hand and back up, and I knew we had an understanding. He asked me some innocuous question about if I knew where something was, and left right away.have you ever happened to see the mixed look of shock and pure fear in the eyes of a person when they are facing someone that suddenly and aggressively brandishes a hatchet or a hammer? I have, and if you are on the wrong end of that equation there is a very unsettling sense of terror that overcomes a person instantly when their brain catches up enough to process what they are seeing and equate it with the pain and damages that are possibly about to be inflicted on them very soon

I beg to differ...i sure would NOT want a face full of wasp espically if your not expecting it....it sure would give me an edge...it also can reach 10-15' ...keeps me away from who ever i see as a threat..didnt say it was a SOLUTION...IT IS AN OPTION ....now consdering it a weapon is a stretch....
