You need to go to Glen Rock, PA, someday. There is a shop, right in the middle of town, that ONLY works on Cords and Duesenburgs. He gets work in from all over the world.

Kinda funny the shop isn't here in Auburn where the cars were built. Those are some very beautiful cars. to think they were building these cars during the depression baffles the mind
saw over 100 today alone

Funny story about that shop. I always try to use local business people where ever I live. I needed some body work on a car I had, so, I went over to that shop, not knowing anything about it, and asked about getting the work done,

The owner politely laughed and said that he NEVER works on cars as "new" as mine.

I guess he say the puzzled look on my face and asked me inside. He took GREAT pride in showing me around his shop and the work that he did. I was amazed.

I don't know if he is still there but he was known world wide.

I have a Tuesday morning drop in Laredo and I'm taking my sweet time getting there. I stopped in St. Louis yesterday and attended the Reds shellacking of the Cardinals all decked out in my Reds garb. Now I'm in Cuba, MO getting ready to hit the road and start heading toward Laredo. I probably won't be hanging out at either of the truck stops there since my AC is still not functioning when the van's sitting still. You'll find me at the Extended Stay keeping cool and cooking instead of eating out.

It is expensive. I was watching the wheelwrights making spokes for a minute while I was there. True artisans. A pleasure to watch them work.

If you are ever near Auburn,In off of I69
The Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum is a must see those cars are pieces of art and getting in there with a straight truck is not hard.
Also the WWII museum is another must see exit 11a
I haven't been to the Natmus auto museum behind the ACD Museum but am sure it is nice as well
