Fayetteville, NC where it's just stupid hot. I need to go to Laredo to cool off.

Or... you could follow Moot's lead... and head to Miami..

Moot, a mixed breed, sits in the Tolally Dog day care swimming pool in Miami, Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 begging for more time with the rubber bone thrown into the swimming pool. Daily up to 25 dogs board a yellow school bus for their ride to the five acre fully fenced doggy playground complete with a bone shaped swimming pool. (AP Photo/J Pat Carter)

So your DH is only about 13% of the total miles...Good job...

Pjjjj you paying attention?....it is right where I told you it is with most of us....

lets see....your total miles divided by 15mpg at 2.80 a gallon is
$2159.17

If I run them

total miles divided by 23 mpg at 2.80 a gallon is

1408.15.. a savings of..... $751.02...!!

and that right there is how we can afford to run a sprinter...

and if you take those numbers every month...$9012.24...a YEAR

That is a lot of maintenance that YOU haven't even figured in...

so you sprinter nay sayers can go chomp on a dog biscuit for awhile...*LOL*

Still waiting on the guy to repair the dent in van so I can get back to work. I may have it by tomorrow, but I'm not sure. Tonight if I'm lucky. On another note, I'm going to the 164th Annual Canfield Fair maybe tomorrow. It's bigger than the Ohio State Fair. One of the Largest County Fairs in the United States. 3rd largest I think. They host the worlds largest demolition derby and Jeff Dunham (the comedian ventriliquist) is going to be on the main stage on Labor Day. I think the tickets are like 7$ or something.....should be pretty cool. Lots of Deep Fried Cheezesticks. LOL good for the diet.:D Here's a link if anyone wants to check it out. The Canfield Fair

As with all things financial, and like I have said many times, one must be sure they are comparing exact apples to exact apples. Is Guido using the 'empty miles' provided by his carrier on his settlement statement? Or is he using the actual mileage from his odometer? Two totally different fruits.

Secondly, I stand by using 30% as a minimum when doing a budget for DH. If a newbie without experience in a given vehicle at a given carrier wants to take the risk of using less than that in his business plan, he is leaving himself open to large disappointment when he doesn't bring home the expected profit at the end of the month/year.

well If you are talking budget...I'd go with 30% as well...better to over estimate then under...

Loading in Clarksville, Tn. this evening for Newton, N.C.

Good numbers Guido, congrats. As far as the DH percentage, one good month does not a year make. I'd bet OVM's paycheck that the 2010 DH total will be higher.

Those are actual numbers,(odometer miles),not statistics provided by the carrier. How would they know my total or all miles traveled, which is a total odometer reading from the 1st until the 31st, or end of the month.

I believe Mr. Guido drives a Ford Diesel. He should be a lot closer to 20 MPG then 15.
