Santa and Jesus are white!

Yes - and to that extent it was largely an introduction of an irrelevancy ... in light of the original premise of the thread.

Maybe so, but the article that prompted the Fox News stupidity was irrelevant to reality.

Since it dealt with the personal "reality" that the author experienced growing up, I would not be inclined to draw that conclusion.

However, you're certainly free to dismiss it as you have.

Personal realities, as I have so often been told, are too narrow to be worth that much. We ALL have "personal realities" that we grew up with.

Color is not relevant and IF one MUST, for what ever reason, "classify" a person, proper scientific classifications should be used.

By the way, I thought that SC ruling was one of the dumber one's they have ever pulled off, even taking the "time" into account.

While we are on the subject of seasonal mythologies, it might be important to remember some historical facts to remind us that the "celebration" of "Christmas" (Saturnalia) was not always a happy and joyous occasion for everyone involved:

Origin of Christmas | The history of Christmas and how it began

C-F make the call to "Put Christ back [or keep him in] Christmas" pretty odd, when you know he actually wasn't in it to begin with. Same goes for Easter and Halloween: pagan traditions taken over by the Christians, who basically lied to persuade people to convert. Reverend Mather spoke the truth, but the Christians didn't care, because they liked the fiction better.
G and H are just depressing - that the Jewish people have been singled out for abuse time and time again. By the Catholic Pope, no less. SMH.

Right on many points. Christmas is not in the Bible, there is no command to celebrate the birth, (other than every day) and is a mishmash of pagan ritual. There is not one command for followers of Christ to partake in any of this, but many passages denouncing this kind of celebration.

Not sure how the Jews got into the conversation, but it has nothing to do with them either. What I find most comical, if not sad? How in the world do three wise men bringing gifts to a new savior, meld into people running out and buying gives for one another?

Not all of them, just some (albeit most) ...

The first exposure I ever had to the notion of certain "holidays" being pagan and non-Christian, was in college - where one of my professors was a member of the Worldwide Church of God, a Christian denomination.

I'm certain that they did not observe Christmas (the topic came up during a conversation about Christmas Break) and perhaps other holidays as well ... and they did observe a Saturday Sabbath, which out of the norm for a Christian denomination.

Yup ... it's a historical reality that should not be minimized or forgotten.

I find the timing of this diversion interesting. Fox News, being the media arm of the OWG (old white guys) political party is just giving old white guys something to rally around. The OWG party has suffered a setback or 3 lately and rallying the troups is insurance against a ratings drop. What's better for old white guys to rally around than Santa and Jesus Christ?

Politically incorrect? I guess it depends on your point of view. From inside The Bubble, Kelly was being very politically correct.

Just like Ms. Megyn did.

In an ultra-conservative marxist way of course. (Not to be confused with someone socializing their nazism). :)

Someday, in the fullness of time, you too will come to see that freedom is much more fun. Then you too shall have a cerebral sense of humor as I.
