Rick Perry will reportedly ‘make clear’ he’s running for president on Saturday

OK,,I'm sleepy, I'm in Texas, I watched Mr. Perry announce his Presidential run, I may vote for him if he gets that far. The rest of the news today is boring. People are still starving in Somalia,another bus flipped over, thousands of babies will be aborted this month,someone wont get enough miles, 50 drivers are stuck in Laredo, U didn't get Ur Panther reward, aaaw. We killed 800 drivers this week in America and I dont know any of them. Fox news keeps hiring foxier blonde's:) and I'm going out dancing in Texas........u all come on down.

I clarified my thoughts on this, beside what's wrong with a conservative democrat with a conservative republican?

The same reason that everyone seems to be blaming Obama for some of the issues that have to do with congress. Bush allowed some of this to happen through the departments, like HUD and the treasury looked the other way when some of the practices like sub-prime lending was the predominant style of lending.

Greg, I assume the state of Michigan taught basic American civics at the junior and senior high school level. It would be absurd to have a President of one party and a Vice-President of the opposing party serving together. They stopped this silliness long ago, and for good reason. Conflicts of interest abound as the Vice-President serves as president of the Senate. He casts a tie-breaking vote in the Senate. Imagine that in an impeachment scenario.

No US President can afford to worry his second-in-command has a separate agenda. Politics is ruthless. Vice-Presidents are one heartbeat away from ultimate power. How many coups or unexplained deaths would this nation endure?

As far as Bush twice he called for new regulations in banking.Twice the democrats accused him of RACISM!

Actually that is not compromise. One form of compromise is when you stand for something and then forsake it to get something else later on. The republicans have and still continue to do this instead of standing united behind anything and not caving.

Actually I call that BS because Bush knew the same thing I know and many in the country knows - he has control of the departments and one of them is the treasury department. They could have done things to slow the problem if not eliminate it.

ON TOP OF THAT, we had a majority republican congress who for some odd reason found ways to pass other things without the dems and still did nothing during that time because they too benefited from the same thing as did the entire congress - money in their election coffers. SO basically, it grew under his watch and he is has to take the larger part of the blame for it among him, Obama and Clinton.

Perry's entry into the race should spell the beginning of the end for the other Minnesotan in the race. I'm not a fan of Perry or any of the leading candidates but as I've said before, he's an improvement over the two other leading candidates(Bachman and Romney).

I think they should hold this in SD....that would be even a stronger test of the candidates... Iowa seems to be getting soft...

It's only because Iowa is the second primary and the first caucus. Now every state is wanting to be first. I think they should rotate it each election. Why should NH and Iowa always get the notoriety?

Maybe they should just have a single day where all 50 states have their primary election. The winner runs for president and the runner up for vice president. If you aren't willing to be the v.p. if you come in second then you don't run. The two top votees against the two from the other side.

They need to run it in sections to involve different segments of the country and still keep it small enough to allow them to campaign.
