Seems like you guys live at the "J", how come you don't go to the Pilots? Pilot has good coffee!!!

I keep seeing those tanker trucks of Pilot coffee on the hiway, and even if I was a regular coffee drinker, I'm not sure I'd want to drink coffee that was delivered to the stores in those kind of bulk quantities.

If you don't have a QC you can make it thru most of them and some you can make it thru the order station but have to pull out abit to make the window and get out to get your order and some you just can't do...
Besides it is good exercise to get out and walk before you eat that stuff...:D

I find alot of fast food places close their lobbies at a certain time, but the drive thru is always open. I have found that if I pull up outside the window(far enough away as to not hit overhang of course:rolleyes: ) That they will take my order without a problem, even though sign states they don't help walk up customers:)

I am going to rent a sprinter by the week from Ryder. The base rate is 240 per week, plus 5 cents per mile. It is going to cost me around 1500 a month for the base rate and around 10 thousand miles. All maintenance is covered as well as breakdowns and the truck can be returned at any time. I am going to see how things work out in a sprinter "while i'm saving more money for a better cargo can!" I can at least break even on the bad weeks, but I can also make 6k in one week if i get lucky. Do y'all think i'm losing my mind?

Caution: I wouldn't recommend this route to new comers. I have enough money to pay for the rental/least for three months in a separate business account, just sitting there not to be touched. I also have another 4k in fuel and operating money to get my by well over 8 weeks on the road. This is the bare minimum that you want to have just to get things going. You also need to have connections and extensive knowledge of the industry to make a go at it.

Hey, check with Penske for their rates, if you haven't already

OVM it may be more expensive to lease/rent a truck but all maintenance including tires is included. The repairs on my truck totalled over 10K this year, so I am quite happy to be leasing.

OVM, I know your truck is paid for but how much do you spend on maintenance over the life of your sprinter? Just curious

As in regular maintenance?

Lets see 8 oil changes @ $70= $560
1 fuel filter $65.
1 turbo filter $70
1 tranny and rear end service $345...so $1080 give or take...
then 1 set if tires about 18 months. that is approximate

what i was getting at if one buys brand new maintenance is almost free for the first year...depending on the deal one gets..
thats just 1 yr I wouldn't hazard to guess.

If ya round off and call it $1200 over 5 years that is $6,000. Now mind you that is just regular maintenance , no wear parts included.

When I've had a wart removed, the doctor has always used liquid nitrogen. After a few days, the wart disappears. Don't know what quanity you would need to make a carrier(wart) go away.

Let me be clear about this. I'm leasing the sprinter for 3 reasons. 1. To see how many more load offers I can get with a sprinter (and how much more they pay per mile). 2. To test the waters out and see if working for three different carriers at the same time is going to be profitable. 3. To save another 10k on top of th emoney I have saved no so that I can buy a reall nice "newer van with under 100k miles on it" instead as a gimper just to get my by for a while. I would not be trying this sprinter lease deal out if someone handed me a nice 2007 cargo van ready to go.
