How do sprinter drivers fit them things through drive-thrus? I might be getting into one via a lease program, and i'm not to thrilled about having to take out a few overhangs at Macdonalds restaurants in order to pave the way for my fellow sprinter drivers.

If you don't have a QC you can make it thru most of them and some you can make it thru the order station but have to pull out abit to make the window and get out to get your order and some you just can't do...
Besides it is good exercise to get out and walk before you eat that stuff...:D

A Canuck is a crazy Canadian driving around using 4 hockey pucks as tires on a Germany type van driving for Fedex!;)

Ya go out shopping for the afternoon and look at what I miss...

This Sprinter driver is firmly a Flying J sitter. Panera's smell tasty and therefore get expensive.....no danger of that at a J.

Pilot, stop for the coffee but until they get a good shower program...I'll stay at the Mormon house!

I am going to rent a sprinter by the week from Ryder. The base rate is 240 per week, plus 5 cents per mile. It is going to cost me around 1500 a month for the base rate and around 10 thousand miles. All maintenance is covered as well as breakdowns and the truck can be returned at any time. I am going to see how things work out in a sprinter "while i'm saving more money for a better cargo can!" I can at least break even on the bad weeks, but I can also make 6k in one week if i get lucky. Do y'all think i'm losing my mind?

Caution: I wouldn't recommend this route to new comers. I have enough money to pay for the rental/least for three months in a separate business account, just sitting there not to be touched. I also have another 4k in fuel and operating money to get my by well over 8 weeks on the road. This is the bare minimum that you want to have just to get things going. You also need to have connections and extensive knowledge of the industry to make a go at it.

I have a friend who currently pays 1200 a month for his sprinter and he seems to have some months where he can hammer down 10k in 14 days. We work for a few different brokers/companies and find some of our own loads, so the rates we get are substantially higher than leased on drivers get. It makes it easier to absorb higher operating costs.

I don't get it..well I do sorta..

If ya have 3 months payments so thats 4500 bucks that would make a good DP on a cargo can the monthly payment would be a lot lower AND it would be under full warranty..but I am quite sure you've thought this out....Good luck...

GREAT warning to newbees as well....don't try this at home kiddies...;)
