There still low relatively speaking however depending on how the world economy goes and how much the shale oil production decreases this year will determine if the fuel prices increase. Currently the "experts " say oil will stay down this year.

Of course. I just committed myself to running a diesel again after 5 years on natural gas. Hello $3000 monthly fuel bills...:(

I don't know how many miles a month you drive but I only pay about $1200 per month for about 10,000 mi. give or take.

It used to be 3000-4000 miles a week, not even close to that now. I know I won't be paying 0.90 cents a gallon for diesel like natural gas
BTW, I get paid in Canadian so 2.00 US costs me 2.65...here a US gallon costs about 3.40

Some Arab oil minister flapped his lips about production cuts and suddenly wholesale prices jumped. Fundamentally still a glut of oil though, so the hype won't hold prices at the higher level. Countries with lots of oil like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Venezuela have no interest in cutting production.

Wouldn't it be better to work for a company in the states then ?

In the old days the Arab always cut production when barrel prices got this low....BUT this time we are a victim of our own success...everyone wanted us to drill more and we did....got to be a major player in the market....and now there is an over supply and prices keep dropping putting 1,000's of oil workers out of a job....while the Arab AKA Opec.....let them drop....to slap our hands....for being so silly to think we could compete.....I find it kind of amusing cause American businessmen are not as smart as they think they are....

Yep, it would be better to live there too. Rent here is 1695 a month, and that's cheap...the average house price is 700,000 in the suburbs...
My carrier had me working almost every day at a decent rate and I was home every night. 2 people in my family have serious medical issues, I've been off since May 2nd and carrier has no problem, just tried to send me work...

I always convert Canadian litres to US gallons...with exchange...US fuel is still usually 40% cheaper or so...plan is to drop the Sprinter spare tire and mount an extra 50 gallon tank

I do know there's no actual reason for prices to go up, but the speculators who actually cause the prices will find a new angle I think...matter of time...

to be carrying around that much extra weight is going to reduce what cargo load you can safely take and that extra 400Lbs or so will reduce brake life and other suspension parts and tranny wear....beware the penny saved to-day could be a dollar spent tomorrow.
a 20 G tank would give you another almost 500 miles more then enough to get back to Oakville and return to Detroit a couple times

I'm aware...my best paying runs lately have been a 4 lb box beside the drivers seat...still have to weigh the new (to me) sprinter. BTW OVM, still got that luxurious bunk? I'm out of the "coffin" but my foam board and blanket only add about 10 lbs...
