All the oil/ gasoline company are in a maintenance period around this time. Also there changing to summer blend fuel. It's a bit more costly.

That switch over to seasonal blends are temporary increases. They always seem to go back down some.

I'm just the opposite, I lake high fuel prices
Since I get the same FSC as a big truck. I make more and have more at the end of the week. It sounds weird, then again, look at the rates right now because the FSC is so low.

Now I might not say this in July if I decide to go from van to solo straight truck. Right now I'm looking at the numbers and also what's going to happen after next year and the ELD rule. Don't know what the company I'm leased at is going to do. Are they going to make us van drivers log because we can pick up a HZ load that placards and we would need an ELD for just that load since under 10,001 doesn't log.

Unless there's an exemption for vans I thing this company will make us log and follow the HOS even if we're not required.

Well Dept of Energy average is for the previous week. So I think we will see a bigger jump on Monday night when it is issued. Then carriers and customers will adjust for the following week.

More than likely they will make a cdl /ltruck take the load then.

Ive heard that they put extra stuff in the fuel to help burn the exhaust in the summer. It's a EPA thing.

Same here..any vehicle that exceeds the FSC formula loves higher fuel prices......I think the straight formula is using like 7 MPG as a base number...most straights are getting 10-11 now....thats a Great bonus right there ....the formula is far outdated and should be updated to reflect technology advances, but with anything government well you know...LOL

SHHHHHHH!!!! Quiet, you knucklehead. :p Some companies will hear you and change the required mpg for their truck classes and kill the golden goose. You're right though. I always got 8.5-9 mpg so the higher the price went the more benefit.

us sprinters getting 22-25 mpg when the baseline is 15mpg I believe were just raking in the cash....AT one point 100% of fuel was paid and putting cash in our pockets....we were not complaining....LOL
