Do you think before you respond or do you just like to spread prejudice and hatred?
Not sure why you think it's either, but that sure is ironic considering the statements that got Phil Robertson canned from the show. It's definitely not prejudice, since prejudice by definition is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason, and fundamentalist Bible thumpers have proven themselves time and time again to unquestionably be closed-minded and not free thinkers. It's "think my way or burn, baby, burn." While his opinion is certainly "different" than that of GLAAD and a few others, it's the same ol' rigid, unwavering opinion of the Bible thumpers. Not seeing any hatred in pointing out the observation of it, either.

Yes, exactly an unfavorable opinion of him being "brainwashed" or not capable of having his own thoughts.

Saying he isn't capable of free thought on a topic simply based on his religion? I'd call that prejudice and hatred.

I've not heard anyone mention the real issue here which is he directly minimized Marriage, all marriage, down to a mere sex act. For a guy who is alleged to be the epitome of moral behavior because he gets paid to say a prayer at the end of his show I find it hard to reconcile. He didn't dance around it. He went straight there.. Immediately. There were no references to 1 Corinthians 13:13. ( Faith Hope and Love) There was only the vagina vs. the :censoredsign:. Wow...what a great guy.

He said as a man a vagina was more desirable than a man's :censoredsign:, nothing in that statement minimized marriage.

He was asked his opinion of Gay Marriage. This was his response:

"It seems like, to me, a vagina, as a man, would be more desirable than a man's :censoredsign:. Robertson told GQ. "That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

He went straight to the sex act after being asked about the marriage issue. It's pretty definitive.

This was before that quote "Then he offered some thoughts about anatomy." which shows that the answer was not about a gay marriage question. Where did you see questions about gay marriage in there? All I saw was his views on gays in general being expressed.

I never thought I'd live to see the day when a fundamentalist Bible thumper is called a "free thinker" whose opinion is "different" - just saying.

Have you ever been on the opposing end of the opinion of the thought police of the gay agenda? Or any liberal agenda, for that matter? You won't be considered a free thinker either... just a nazi.

Wow... that is the stance of most liberal demagogues, democrat politicians, as well as religious righties. Make sure you kick all of them, unless you have an agenda of your own.

I'm not really sure what all the madness is about. This Robertson guy can say whatever he wants. If someone doesn't like it, that is probably too bad. It is HIS opinion.
With that, the A&E network has every right not to have him on their channel. The aren't restricting his right to speak freely except on their network.

First off, this has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Look it up, read it, educate yourselves about it then stop referring to it in these situations.

Second. Me personally, I wouldn't sell out my religous beliefs in order to get my family on T.V. If you feel that strongly about your faith and how you practice your faith and a television network has a problem with that, you walk away.

btw........it's fake, it's not a "reality" show. The situation's they place themselves in are not by happenstance. I like the show, but its a total facade and they have sold out in my opinion, way before they became popular. They sold out the minute they agreed to A&E's parameters and what they will allow and not allow. It is quite sad actually.

And of course it could be another spin-off in the making. In this case, picked up by another network.
All you need is a working title as you have Phil Robertson & Alec Baldwin as your leads.
I believe most operate on borrowed scripts from world wrestling.

I think A and E sold their beliefs out by having the show on because it was a huge money maker, regardless how uncomfortable it made them feel. Once he made the comments in question and the uproar from the various communities ensued, the sponsors would drop like flies. No money to be made, so that means curtains.

My only agenda is on-topic and in-context. If I include everyone who could be included as being representative of that statement, it would create a new context and change the topic. That would be silly.
