I had my truck leased with Panther and I switch to Tristate ...I had Tristate remove my QC...after 70 days I called Panther to have my 750 $ escrow returned and they said I have the QC hit and iI have to pay 400 plus 750 escrow for repairs 1150 total???
I have my own method to see what hapened with the QC and the QC was in Medina they tested and was Ok...what should I do now? Is anyone had the same problem ?

shoulda got the guy in Medina to put the test results in writing...take note Panther fans....a learning curve here...and this issue can go toward any carrier..

Another possibility is that the guy who took the working one off had a bad one he was going to have to pay to get repaired and suddenly didn't need a repair after all.

Both the dome and keyboard have serial numbers. Record these numbers and verify with the carrier that they have these same serial numbers.

If you are shipping the QC unit back to the carrier go to an authorized QC shop. Bring an appropriate size box, packing material and address labels. Have the QC tech test the unit, document its condition, package and ship it direct to the carrier. It may cost you a few dollars, but should eliminate any problems.

well first of all, it was your responsibility, not tri-states to remove and return, thus it would have saved you from this, secondly, qc's cannot be swapped like that . Qc's are leased not bought, therefore there is no charge for the repair to the unit. Something is not adding up here, sounds like to me, some info is missing.

Most carriers will remove the QC of the old carrier. That is as common as indigestion in this business.

common practice or not...it was his responsibility not tri-states....read your contract..thats all that matters, thats why he is in this situation.

It appears to me that the time you didn't take to dot your I's, and cross you T's may cost you dearly. A nuther one that'll like jump'in carriers.

Couple a minutes to dot em and cross em seems could'a paid several thousand an hour. Not bad. But, we still wonder why we don't do well out there.

Anybody got a hint for us???

When we left Panther, the company we went with removed our QC and sent it back to them. We had no problems with this and had our escrow back in no time.

My husband removed the QC off our truck. I packed it
in a large box (really well) and sent it by UPS Ground
with $2000 insurance on it with Del. Conf. I made sure
they did receive the QC so I could get my escrow back.

I removed mine myself, drove it to Green and had them sign for it. I was not going to mess around with it. If they didn't like it, well it does not say anything in my contract on what method is used to remove it, it only says it has to be returned.

This is an example of how one can avoid some trouble, by keeping up with EO: after reading a few horror stories like this, I took the QC back and had the carrier remove it, and sign for it's safe receipt. Had I shipped it back, I'd have been very careful to dot & cross, as the Col said - the bloody things are expensive!

According to Deirdre Flint's song "Cheerleader"
" Cheerleaders drive Camaros
Cheerleaders don't get zits
Everyone would die to have their little tiny thighs
And their really, really, REALLY, big ....
makeup kits!" :D

So ok, there are worse things to be, eh? :p

You're about as innocent as that thing Terry had mounted on a plaque, lol, and I'd rather be running some loaded miles - Salt Lake City is wearing thin, about now. (Can't even sink in the durn lake!) I turned down an offer to DH to LA, so I can keep running with whatever gets tossed, until further notice, sigh.

Better get north gal...

Although it will be hot in most of the Midwest and Great Plains tomorrow, it will be nothing compared with what lurks over the horizon.

A major heat wave looms for the weekend and early next week, one in which heat indices (a combination of temperature and humidity) may well soar to deadly levels from the central Plains through the lower Midwest.

Sorry my mistake Panther charge me for a QC unit I have to repair in Chicago 3 mths ago ..I called them from Chicago and I get approval to have my QC repaired and now I have to pay 1150 $
My unit was 11161 if someone from Panther read this and that's how they make money now

Find out who from Panther approved it and your problem is solved. If you don't remember, call the QC place that performed the work. They should have a record if they called for a PO # from Panther.

Yep!

It is my responsibilty to return the QC.

The lease does not indicate that I personally, and directly, have to remove the unit or ship the unit.

Tri-State's excellent service team kindly removed my "known good" QC, packed it into a container designed to ship these units, insured the shipment for me and sent it back to the originating carrier.

In fact, they have done so on two occasions for me!

No problems and escrow monies always returned to me in full.

Many thanks to Butch and his team at Tri-State.
