We got a load out of Pottstown,Pa. going to Laredo today. We want to go to mich for home time guess that won't happen. sorry loads a T/T won't fit on your truck.

A lot of good loads out of Pottstown. I've had a few to Texas from that area.

I'm not trying to start anything when I say this , but when are some of you people going to realize bigger isn't always better? I mean you people get the run around, and they are always swapping the boards up on you so you don't know what's really happening one day to the next. Why not go to a smaller company that knows you by name and not number and is more like a personal dispatch service instead of a big carrier with more rules than the FMCSA?

The flip side of that coin is the small company knows you by name and they also know all the customers by name. The customer base is also far smaller so the potential d/h is greater and the potential wait between loads is longer. That's not to say that small companies are bad. One of the companies on my recommended list is a small company. I just wanted to point out for clarity that there are two sides to each coin.

Well we have one truck that wanted to go to mich for hometime that is loaded and going to texas and one truck that wanted to go to texas for hometime that is not loaded. And both these trucks are leased to a carrier that allows you to broker your own loads. Just as a passing thought you could broker your own load and go home, right.

I would say if you are still there I would take off the hometime request, move to another board, request an empty move to another board, or broker a load to Texas, or over to the mid west area where there is more freight going south.

Have to agree with Dave, some, not all dispatchers are geographically challenged, it seems easier for them to just skip over you than to look at a map. Also as you know it will be harder to find a load as a solo going to Texas. Although you might have some luck for a delivery for Tuesday.

I am independent with one van. I was talking about the two trucks on this thread that wanted hometime. As to why more panther people are not broking there own loads , I dont know but maybe one of them will tell us why.

I often wonder this? Some say a LTL load doesn't pay enough, but they don't want to put the effort into maybe combining two loads. It is one of those things that the more you do it, the better you get at it. That experience is usually reflected in the rate.
What I also see many times over are the ones that want to make a statement are the same that will deadhead home 500 miles for nothing.
That is usually followed by "I can't afford to operate"

If you are south of Pittsburg, most of the loads historically come out noon or later.

.... I try to do my best to take reg panther loads..... when making hometyme trips
example
last sept......... i got a awful phone call from my brother...... that our sister passed away... OMG... i was soo upset.... my owner told me to go .....
i was in nashville...... and had to get home to Buffalo NY......
well.... my brother calls me bk .. 30 min later to say.... our sis was on life support....
im like ?????
sooo even though my ower told me i can go...and DH all the way home.....
well i felt soo guilty of using all that fuel. with the cost.....
what more could i do for my sis at this point anyways.. as upset as i was......
soo i found a back haul load..... took me to east area of Inndy ..... BUT at least it paid off towards some of the fuel.... and did not use up anymore of my time not really...... and i did make it home..... to be at her side for her last 2 days.....
I miss her so much.
I like the owners i am working for a great deal...... and tend to be a loyal driver.... and do my best to help conserve the fuel... cause i know its putting a crunch on them as well as everyone....
i sleep with my with truck turned off..... in fact its turnd off now....
i wil start it.... for 20 min or sooo... if i need t run the micro wave....
i can listen to music and watch tv.. shows on the lap top..... plus i am an artist.and have some art supplies with me....
ok sorry guess i got off the board topic here........ heh

well......... ok...... im waiting.... its almost 10 am....

..... ok im still here..... i feel like they forgot about me or somthing.... and its 2pm ....
**deep sigh** ..... i have a whole 149 miles ... for this week ...... how impressive is that???
i found a back haul load on get oaded picking up here in this area....
going down near waco TX and its paying out at ...$1.62 a mile
i tell ya ..... i never ever..... take or use back haul loads to go so far.... but the way my week has gone so far...... this is extremly tempting

Even more so being a solo and it is going to TX which is where you want to go. If it isn't a truck load, you may be well able to grab something else and throw on with it.

Not to get off the subject, but if anyone is in St. Louis...I'm dying here for some real food! this school doesn't feed us right....I would have driven here if I had known there were no places to eat within walking distance!
