The vast majority of "us" in here, including the soapbox, are part of a much larger "we" called expediters. You don't fit into "we" very well.

What's the matter? Your wittle feewings been hurt?

Being a part of the "we" is not required to be sure, but you are kind of an "outsider" so to speak.

Being a part of the "we" is not required, yet you bring it up  Are you sure you aren't talking about political leanings and not career choices? Being a scared little man must be tiring.

I doubt if you can speak for the "we".

Since, "we" , would mean two or more, and greg asked the question about your vote, I would say that "we" was an appropriate word to use. "We", Greg and I, were wondering who you would vote for.

What position? And who are you speaking of? Myself, Diesel or Obama?

How did I know this was going to become about Obama

If you recall, Diesel makes a contemptuous statement about me and added a "smiley face". Just because you add a "smiley face" doesn't make it any less disrespectful. On top of it all, how does a statement like that add to the conversation.

I was neither contemptuous OR disrespectful.....that's merely your opinion of my inference that you, and many others, do not deserve respect handed to them "just because", an obvious error in thinking that is rampant among the left.

As for my "We" statement. "We", would be, myself and the general audience within the Soapbox. It is generally used to refer to all people or to people in general, including the speaker.

Your "we" statement ASSUMES (and we all know about that) that the "general audience" agrees with your view......not something that you should take for granted, here, or anyplace else.

Don't give yourself too much credit. You are not capable of hurting my feelings. You would have to be important to me for that to happen.

Looks like you could use some speak therapy as well.

You surely are not calling me a "scared little man". First off, you don't know me. Second off, you know little of my back ground. Third off, I don't think that is a good way to speak to other members.

Maybe you were speaking of someone else. Must be a mistake, eh?

You knew it was going to become about Obama because you chose to make it about Obama. OVM clearly stated "a leader", which is just about as generic as it can get.

If you recall, Diesel makes a contemptuous statement about me and added a "smiley face". Just because you add a "smiley face" doesn't make it any less disrespectful. On top of it all, how does a statement like that add to the conversation.
It adds almost as much to the conversation as your whining about it does. As for being disrespectful, one, Diva wasn't (it was funny, tho), and two, you have to actually earn respect, which is something that very few professional soapboxers ever do. Most professional soapboxers think they should be granted immediate and irrevocable respect by virtue of their own delusional virtually superior intellect. They wax poetic about giving and earning respect, yet rarely show any to anyone. They are far more interested in a personal confrontation of personalities than they are about the issues, and when someone disagrees with them the reason is usually ad hominem in nature, to wit: "We'll put you down for a vote for Ms. Palin then." No one cares, except the professional soapboxer.

As for my "We" statement. "We", would be, myself and the general audience within the Soapbox. It is generally used to refer to all people or to people in general, including the speaker.
Excellent example. Your "We" assumes the general audience within the Soapbox agrees with you, and that the general audience within the Soapbox cares about keeping score. But they don't, on both counts. But a professional soapboxer, they care. They need to keep score. They need to be able to use it as ammunition in the future. Without such a scorecard, they are left to dealing with the issues and only the issues, and doing so on their merits alone, which is something a professional soapboxer has a real hard time dealing with.

Then quit making it about me and stick to the thread and what's being discussed and leave the snide remarks out of it.

You, the MASTER of snide remarks, are telling me to drop them? Ever consider a career in comedy? You are funny!

My comment to Diesel was meant to be about Obama? Dude, seriously you need to stop worrying about me, your disdain is getting in your way of doing your job.

Yes, OVM did clearly state "leader" but what did that have to do with the situation with Diesel and I?

That was his opening comment, what in God's name does this have to do with Obama?

It adds almost as much to the conversation as your whining about it does. As for being disrespectful, one, Diva wasn't (it was funny, tho), and two, you have to actually earn respect, which is something that very few professional soapboxers ever do.

Maybe you should stop whining about my apparent whining. By the way, I'm glad you are holding that bar high for the membership and thinking the likes of Diesel's disrepcectful post is funny. So do tell, who determines if someone has earned the respect that you are talking about, is it you turtle? Your moderator status surely has gone to your head.

Most professional soapboxers think they should be granted immediate and irrevocable respect by virtue of their own delusional virtually superior intellect.

Including you.

I never asked for respect, I merely pointed out Diesel's disrespectful comment. So quit whining about it.

Your "We" assumes the general audience within the Soapbox agrees with you,

No it doesn't.

and that the general audience within the Soapbox cares about keeping score.

That's not what I was trying to do, but keep whining about it and people will think that was my intention. Try going back to the beginning and see if you are able decipher what was being discussed.

But they don't, on both counts. But a professional soapboxer, they care. They need to keep score. They need to be able to use it as ammunition in the future.

You're adding a lot of words and assumptions of what was really said.

Wow dude, you have got yourself all wound up about nothing. Is this moderator status getting to be too much for you?

What's the matter, you can dish it out but you can't take it? Plus, this had nothing to do with you, turtle or OVM(actually I'm not sure what OVM was trying to say), but between Diesel and I. If I were her, I would be humiliated to think that she is unable to defend here words and needs you or anyone else to stick up for her. Why you fealt the need to come to her aid is pathetic on your part, along with your other buddy's decision to inject yourselves. You and your other "moderators" have made something out of nothing, way to go guy's, your doing a bang up job!

Yeah, I typed the wrong word.

Yes, you most certainly did. Maybe if you would take the time to respond to me, without all the pent-up anger, you would be able to communicate better.

My comment to Diesel was meant to be about Obama? Dude, seriously you need to stop worrying about me, your disdain is getting in your way of doing your job.
No, it wasn't meant to be about Obama, as far as I can tell. You're the one who brought it up. Did you not read YOUR text that I quoted?

Yes, OVM did clearly state "leader" but what did that have to do with the situation with Diesel and I?
Nothing as far as I know. But when he said "a leader", you're the one who asked him, "And who are you speaking of? Myself, Diesel or Obama?" So I'd have to ask you the same question.

That was his opening comment, what in God's name does this have to do with Obama?
Nothing. Didn't have anything to do with Diva, either. It had everything to do with you, tho.

No, it's not me who makes that determination for everyone. Everyone is smart enough to make that determination on their own.

Including you.
Incorrect.

I never asked for respect, I merely pointed out Diesel's disrespectful comment. So quit whining about it.
No, you don't ask for it, but you sure do whine about it when it's not handed to you.

No it doesn't.
Incorrect again. When you say "we" is to mean the general audience within the Soapbox, then you are taking it upon yourself to speak for everybody, and are therefor assuming everyone within the Soapbox agrees with you in order to allow you to speak for them.

That's not what I was trying to do, but keep whining about it and people will think that was my intention.
Poor, poor you.
Try going back to the beginning and see if you are able decipher what was being discussed.
Nothing to decipher, it's pretty straight forward.

You're adding a lot of words and assumptions of what was really said.
You're just sharp as a tack, aren't you. NONE of that was really said, not until I said it.

Wow dude, you have got yourself all wound up about nothing. Is this moderator status getting to be too much for you?
It's funny how when someone points out an observation about a professional soapboxer, they are whining. The professional soapboxer (that would be you) feels they should be able to whine and not have it called whining, and when someone points it out, they are in the wrong for doing so. Professional soapboxers (again, that would be you) feel they are always in the right, and are always being unjustly persecuted. It just chaps your butt that I'm a moderator, and that makes me smile. :)

Once again, you have made a thread soooo convoluted it is no longer about the issue that was originally posted and have made it about you and I. Nice job moderatoring

Nothing as far as I know. But when he said "a leader", you're the one who asked him, "And who are you speaking of? Myself, Diesel or Obama?" So I'd have to ask you the same question.

Let's do this, lets go back to OVM's comments:

Comment 52:

Ya know it gets old reading something from a person who doesn't contribute to the rest of the forum in any way....

I'm not sure but I don't think OVM had the President in mind when making this comment. Maybe he was speaking of me, Diesel or someone else, maybe you? I don't know, that's why I asked him. I'm still not sure why or who he would catch heck for making that statement.

Then you have my comment to Diesel #54:
awwww......that old line of thinking, it actually says a lot about you.

I have always tried to go with; respect should always be given, but can be taken away after you have first shown it. Or, first you must give respect, to get it back. But hey, that's just me.

Then you have OVM's response #56:
The position alone doesn't demand respect from the peasants....a leader should give respect to the people who put him in that position....he has to EARN the respect by his deeds...and obvious by this audience here he has not done so....maybe in your circles...but that is just my opinion...

Yes Turtle, he was obviously speaking of the President, but in the context and the flow of the thread it had nothing to do with Diesel or myself, which I'm still trying to figure out why he brought up Obama earning or giving respect?

Look, I get it, you have a hard on for me, for whatever reason you do, jeolousy, you look at me as a worthy opponent, what ever game your playing it is only making you look bad.

Nothing. Didn't have anything to do with Diva, either. It had everything to do with you, tho.

Apparently so, and another fine example of a moderator not doing their job or setting a good example.

No, it's not me who makes that determination for everyone. Everyone is smart enough to make that determination on their own.

Then keep your arrogant comments and your nose out of other peoples conversations. You know, moderate.

No, you don't ask for it, but you sure do whine about it when it's not handed to you.

I'm not sure why you think by pointing out an obvious double standard is whining? I just wish you'd stop whining about me pointing out the double standards that you are perpetuating.

Incorrect again. When you say "we" is to mean the general audience within the Soapbox, then you are taking it upon yourself to speak for everybody

Turtle you can try and twist my words and try and tell me what I meant to say all you want. I was using it as a generality and you know it. "We" is one or more persons including the writer, since greg started the conversation about Obama or McCain, I simply asked the question, since the thread WAS about Palin: Obama or Palin?

and are therefor assuming everyone within the Soapbox agrees with you in order to allow you to speak for them.

Yeah.......that's what I assumed turtle. Keeping reaching, streeeeetch.....almost there.......streeeeetch.

Poor, poor you. Nothing to decipher, it's pretty straight forward.

It was, until you came in and muddied up the thread. Seriously, just moderate and stop going to the rescue to those that you feel sorry for or feel that they can't stick up for themselves.

You're just sharp as a tack, aren't you. NONE of that was really said, not until I said it.

You have twisted yourself into a pretzel so badly you don't even know why or what you are responding to anymore

You can call it anything you like turtle. It's funny that someone can point out an obvious personal attack and it's called whining. Then the moderator(that would be you) whines about the "so called" whiner, whining. Then the moderators(that would be you) whines about how people whine about the moderators(that would be you).

It just chaps your butt that I'm a moderator, and that makes me smile. :)

Chaps my butt?? I could care less if you are a moderator or not, just do your job and moderate and maybe, just maybe set an example for everyone. It just "Chaps your butt"<sarcasm off> that you have to step in and defend the indefensible.

Sell out.
