I think that's what they are doing now. There's only so many ways to accurately check a cat. And the loud way IS certainly the easiest!!

Just out of curiosity does your van use a little bit of coolant? If it does that might explain why one side is clogged and not the other, might have a tiny head gasket leak.

Scott, glad you enjoyed! I usually wash mine down with Pennsylvania Birch Beer. Every visit home I make sure to get there at least once if not more!

Update. Cat not clogged, although not flowing as well as it could. The 2000-2200 misfire is now supposedly due to some internal wear. Maybe worn valve springs and/or seats.
I'm just gonna drive it. Maybe locate a couple of test pipes for the fun of it.
And I'll probably put it back on Lucas UCL. This started when I stopped "1/2 dosing". Masking the issue? Yep.
