How can you have a million more votes and still lose? Something's not right here!

So why do we bother to vote? Someone besides the citizens chooses for us anyway!
The public spoke & looks like Romney get's the popular vote. The electorial college is an archaic way of electing a President that should have been done away with 75 years ago.
Stupidity knows few limits.
Your vote in the general election counts; it's the primaries, in which everything is manipulated by the two parties that control the process, that are essentially meaningless. The establishment man pretty much always wins, and when the general election rolls around, you can have Pepsi or Coke, nothing else.So why do we bother to vote? Someone besides the citizens chooses for us anyway!
Second, the electoral college is necessary to ensure that citizens in smaller states play a role in the process. If it weren't for the electoral college, you may as well not vote at all unless you live in one of the biggest cities and/out states. If it weren't for the electoral college, a citizen living in Boise or Des Moines or Oklahoma City or Cheyenne would have essentially no say. The electoral college evens it all out.
Just look at the polling data on the issues. A majority think America is on the wrong track. Those who said that, voted for Obama anyway. A majority think Romney would do a better job with the economy and foreign policy. Those who said that, voted for Obama anyway. Stupid is as stupid does.
First, it's electoral, not electorial.

Is that anything like the 5% getting a bad name from the 95%?
The Electoral vote is not necassary, its an injustice..smaller states have no say so whats so ever, WV has five electoral votes...how can a canidate win more states and over 1 million vote(no small margin), yet lose election...not very democratic. Its just an easy way for TPTB to control the desired outcome.

Romeny invented the healthcare mandate, banned assault weapons in Mass, was 47th in job creation in Mass, used to be pro-abortion in some aspects and is a North Eastern liberal. It's no surprise that the guy didn't win. Everyone keeps saying that government can't create jobs then how was Romney going to create jobs? You can't forget that the Bush wars put us into this recession along with the Bush supported bail outs. There is plenty of blame to go around. You ran a liberal candidate that changed his position more times than he could remember himself and the people have spoken. It just amazes me how a party that is so conservative would nominate the most liberal candidate that they could find. It''s done now and we have to move on.
...sigh...No, it's the reverse. If it weren't for the electoral college, they'd have no say. The election would be decided by the few largest metropolitan areas, and no candidate would give half of a rodent's rectum what they think. No candidate would ever go outside of those areas to campaign our consider what they want or think.
