Now for winter, keeping warm

As Turtle said, before I insulated the rear of my van and used the Big Buddy, i could take a shower back there after using the heater all night..the condensation literally dripped off the ceiling. After i insulated back there...no soo much...

As to the condensation on the glass, again that is an issue. i found that by not using the "foil insulated sunshield" to cover the windshield ( i use a flannel blanket hung over a cord that is stretched from the "A" pillar post at the sunvisors, that lets the blanket hang down at the edge of the dash a good 12 inches away from the windshield at the bottom and 4 inches away at the top) at night and keeping the roof vent open a little bit and in the exhaust position and the fan going, along with both front windows open enough to allow good air flow the condensation buildup stopped...oh and i also leave the heat/ac/defroster in the defrost mood...doing that also draws air in when the fan on the roof vent is on the "exhaust" setting. To make sure the defrost "mode" door is open, start the van, put the defroster on and then turn the engine off. This keeps the vacuum door open that allows the outside air into the van and the mode door in the defrost position.

I got in this morning from Minn & Wisconsin earlier in the week. I don't have any type of heating yet. What I did before I left the last time. I picked up a 4x8 sheet of 1\2" high R sheathing. Cut 2' off, then cut into 2 3x4 pieces for storage. I put it on the floor first, before the mattress pad or sleeping bag. Makes a difference in cold coming through the floor. The I invested under $10.00 in a "Fleece" blanket and put it inside the sleeping bag. Feels like flannel sheets and for me quite warm.

Delilah, my black dog likes the cool weather. Hobo on the other hand would prefer to be inside the bedroll with me. So he gets a old blanket lined dungaree jacket, once he's comfortable.
