Is that load from R P Expediting? I had them all set up on Sylectus to receive automatic updates and they kept on calling me every two hours. Finally I just let them put my driver on their own macropoint. That is why you need a night time guy Murray. I don't care how automated things are at any company, in this business you're always going to get that oddball phone call in the middle of the night. I have Active call me quite often after midnight asking if I have a tractor trailer and we don't even run those. I wonder if people call just to check if you're really 24/7 dispatch. You need to pay someone 30 bucks a night to handle the phone calls so you can sleep. When you don't get good sleep at night, you aren't going to be as quick on the draw in the AM.

In my case I just shot the broker an email with my current location and revised ETA since this is a cross dock hopefully avoid one of those phone goals

The phone calls are fine for positions of the MacroPoint is not working. Which happens.
But receive a position every 30 and STILL call for positions?! That's just lazy. Especially with I'm going to drag the call out and take 12 minutes helping you get your position email.

If I was Murray, I would allow all of you guys to contact the brokers directly and provide them with position updates. He has some of the most professional drivers on EO. Some drivers though are too crude to be allowed to communicate with the brokers. I used to do a lot of my own position updates when I was a driver for Charles. You are a good driver being proactive like that. The more the brokers get to know how good of a drivers you all are, the more loads you will be offered.

Our drivers communicate with the brokers on every load. It's only backfired once. But it wasn't a bad one at all.
Positions are easy. MacroPoint. No need for the driver to do that if it's working correctly.

It also helps brokers recruit our drivers.
They think we don't find out but it's not like it's difficult.

Yeah, I can see where that would be a problem. But most rate sheets require you to give out the drivers name and cell number. A lot of brokers get that info anyways.

Yep. We don't worry about it much. Turnover WILL happen. Grass is always greener. Especially when on the phone with a recruiter.

I learned it is the same everywhere. You just have to find the operation that works best for you. I am done with jumping. When I come back out to drive I'm sticking with one carrier for a while. I've been around the block too many times. You do have some loyal drives though. That always makes a big difference.

True. All we can do is try our hardest all the time. That doesn't work sometimes. Unfortunately, that's how the ball bounces.

I need a pill that will keep me on a darn diet. I have been on a no carb diet for two days now and all I can think about over and over in my mind is an apple fritter. It is becoming relentless to the point that I might just break down and eat said fritter. My blood glucose morning numbers for the past two days have been 75, and my post meal numbers are well under a hundred. This is without medication. I never take Metformin when I go low carb because it makes me hypoglycemic. I wish I could eat a Bigmac and large fries and still have these numbers. I have a few hours to decide whether or not I'm going to stick with this diet. Will the Bigmac win? To be continued...
Been low carb, lo sugar since Jan., down 70#☺
