It looked like a nice job raising the roof.
Anybody doing that would add the air dam even if you routinely hauled 500 lb loads.

Maybe he hauls 2 tons of Feathers instead of hauling 4000 lbs of Auto freight ...It looked like a nice job raising the roof.

I remember hauling bags of air to be tested up in Canada!
I may still be there, but I hope notI’ll be there on Monday.
Actually, he may be hauling light weight freight but needs the height for the cargo! Example, I have a colleague who ships light weight freight usually between 750lbs to 1500lbs. But the dimensions require a tall box. Because height is between 75"-87". They usually have to use a 53ft. trailer. But a tall cube or straight truck would fit the bill!
Check out this gem.. gassing up at exit 4 ... Terra Haute ..
Notice the 3 foot extension on top of regular box .. off course the Comical GVW 10,000 ..

If it fits, it ships....A few weeks back, I pulled in by another sprinter driver. He came over to talk. He looked so familiar, I thought I knew him. Turns out I had just watched a YouTube video on him the prior day doing a sprinter repair. We got around to taking about van weight, and how I couldn't add much more weight without taking something away. He kind of scoffed and that and said he doesn't worry about weight. He left me with a puzzling question...you can haul 10K pounds right?
Hoping that was just a language misunderstanding

Could beat this to death. Ntimevan didn't say if it was DRW? Where's Turtle. What I want to know is, is it legal to downgrade the posted weight on a truck to avoid DOT issues, assuming that the manfacturer rated the truck higher when sold and titled?Actually, he may be hauling light weight freight but needs the height for the cargo! WOM, if you read the post and then following posts related to the OP, Ntimevan stated that 10,000 was listed on both sides and that the last 0 on each side was lightened.Could beat this to death. Exactly...I bought the sprinter because my carrier did a lot of aircraft loads....landing gear and engines...boxes would be taller then 48 but not all that heavy...and we were losing good loads because they went on straights...Actually, he may be hauling light weight freight but needs the height for the cargo! No offense taken and I completely understand Ntimevan post. My question about DRW is, if not DRW the 10,000 may be correct. And, NO, I don't know that it is illegal to post under 10K if you only carry under 10K??WOM, if you read the post and then following posts related to the OP, Ntimevan stated that 10,000 was listed on both sides and that the last 0 on each side was lightened.
So common sense should dictate *(please no offense) that he manipulated the weight on the vehicle, which would be illegal. Don't need Turtle for that! *(No disrespect to Mr. Turtle and his wealth of knowledge in such matters of expertise).
So take a State DOT officer or a Trooper who feels the need to target trucks one day, and our "friendly European driver" gets snagged on a roadside inspection or by passes a scale and an officer who just drank his "energy drink" decides to haul that big yellow truck back to the scales.....he'll probably have some explaining to do!
