I know, but it doesn't take a lot of analyzing, you simply need to know which state you are in. That's why these types of questions, the ones with more than one correct answer, drive me crazy. The hottest pepper question still chaps my butt. Pick the hottest pepper, only the hottest pepper wasn't even one of the choices The only questions that come close to being as irritating are the "According to some obscure article in a dark and dingy corner of the Web..." factoid questions.

So if i understand you correct traffic from all directions have a green light so to say. If that's true ill ignore the law and go with the stop and look theory.

In Ontario the vehicle on the right has the right of way. If everyone stops at the same time at a 4 way stop, anarchy ensues.

I'm confused: why the question of a traffic control device that is "supposed to be there"? The question clearly states a nonworking device, not an absent one, and to the best of my knowledge, that's always treated as a 4 way stop.

I've noticed many answers to questions on there based on opinion, and not fact. I just let it go.

Some are content to just let it go, others want to get as many answers right as they can.

And, lest someone thinks I'll making this up, read here:
When signals go dark should drivers treat intersections as four-way stops?

“The Traffic Services Section continues to receive questions regarding the right-of-way at intersections where a traffic signal has lost power. When a signal loses power, the intersection becomes uncontrolled and reverts back to the basic right-of-way requirements found in (the Michigan Vehicle Code). It does not become a four-way stop, as is frequently reported in the media.”

It's not just Michigan. It's most states, actually. Kentucky is another one. California is one, but many cities (maybe even most, I'm not sure) in California have laws that say it should be treated like a 4-way stop sign.

Granted, whatever the law says, if you approach an intersection that already has cars at it, you should do what everyone else is doing, be it stopping or just driving on through. It's not what you should or should not do at an intersection that I have issue with, it's the question itself, because it has more than one correct answer. I figured, since Load One is a Michigan company, the question would reflect the laws of that state. I figured wrong. Oh, well.

another vague question...
When traveling on a highway divided into four traffic lanes, which vehicles are required to stop for a school bus that has stopped to unload children?

The key would be...how wide is the divider...some states are very specific how wide it should be to be considered safe....simple curbing in most cases does not cut it....legally

Arkansas states a specific median width. One state, Virginia I think, doesn't require stopping from the opposite direction if the road is controlled access, otherwise you have to stop. New York requires everyone on both sides of a median to stop. Everybody else, the other side of the median doesn't have to stop.

True or False - All GPS devices are safe for all types of drivers (truck drivers and smaller vehicle drivers).

  1. TRUE
  2. FALSE

I answered TRUE and got it wrong.

So, I gotta ask... exactly what type of GPS devices are UNsafe for all types of drivers? Are we talking about GPS devices which contain Li-Ion batteries that can get too hot and explode like a hand grenade? Are we talking about locator GPS devices that broadcast its location to you and miscreants alike?

The above paragraph is the question I posed to the good folks a Hinda.

The problem is, I can't think of a single GPS device that's UNsafe for all types of drivers. I can think of plenty of drivers who operate a GPS device unsafely, but the device itself isn't much of a danger to all types of drivers.

I would answer false handheld comes to mind right away. Also to be false a certain type would only have to be unsafe for some drivers not all drivers.

Yup...a trick question. Though a cell phone is not technically a gps device, it can be used as one.

Not much tricky about it really you have hand held or a non truck route in big trucks. My simple mind thinks of those immediately.

sort of like--guns don't kill people; people kill people. a gps is perfectly safe in its box. cant hurt a soul. the people taking it out of the box and steering their vehicle into another while watching the gps did the deed not the gps. a driver can stare at only their steering wheel while driving down the road, rearend a school bus, kill all the children, and we say the steering wheel is dangerous or at fault?
