New Dispatch System is really bad

It must be nice to be so self disciplined that you don't hear the QC BEEP and only the person on QC night watch hears it from their deep sleep. Not to mention that if the load offer requires that you roll within your 10 minute window after being given the load, the "QC hearing person on duty" must put away all your crap that you left on the dash and the passenger seat. And perform the Pre Trip Inspection. Oh I forgot they should be dressed prior to doing the inspection.

Bottom line don't be such a .... well you know

My post was an observation of Humble2drive and his decision making. My partner and I always traded off "beeb" listening. It was pretty simple with Panther and their program in 05 and 06. After he became homesick and quit, I stayed on as solo. I made my post based on a totally different system. For that I apologize.............

No I'm not kissing A$$.

I don't think you are, and I doubt anyone else does, either. If I thought you really were kissing her a$$ I'd have either said so in very un-humorous, serious terms, or more likely, I wouldn't have said anything at all.

"Michelle is a great person and really cares."

Yeah, about getting the bugs out of the new system. You said that, already.

"If you must know what she did. Take FedEx out of the picture."

Why take FedEx out of the picture? You just got through saying that Virginia will see to it that they address the problems with the new dispatch system, and that Michelle was another great person who will help get the bugs out of the new system. That's about as FedEx as you're gonna get, considering that the bugs in the new dispatch system, as well as Virginia and Michelle, all have to do with FedEx. My silly little response was in that context. Why go and take it out of context by removing FedEx from the picture?

"My son was getting an operation that could have killed him."

Well, as irrelevant as that is to FedEx and the new dispatch system, I certainly hope he came out of the operation OK.

"Michelle took the time to call mine and my wifes cell phone to ask if everything was okay with my son. That was real class in my book. She didn't have to do that, but she did."

Ah, OK, I get it now. I can see why her making a couple of phone calls about something completely unrelated to FedEx would make her a GREAT person at FedEx who will help get the bugs out of the new system.

I stand by the absurdity of what I said in my absurd, sophomoric post. It's still funny. If you fail to see the humor in it, well, sorry. Don't make this into something that it's not.

Turtle, he just may be upset that Caffee may have upstaged him in the super pro FED endorsments. May have a new endorsment sheriff in town. Think? Or, maybe the honeymoon is over.

I'd sure hate to get the endorsement sheriff mad at me.

Ya know what makes 'em mad at
logo_cla.jpg
? When you use one of the
logo_cca.jpg
logos in a sentence in place of a word. Oh, they don't like that at all. That's a no-no. It's too cluttered, not enough "clear space" free of color, text or graphics around the logo. I don't think
panther-expeditea.jpg
cares one way or the other.

At least they haven't told me, nor do I feel the need, to write it as Panther Expedited Services, instead of just plain ol' Panther every time I mention Panther.

Hey, it's all good. ;)

Yep! It's all good. And entertaining too. Even the ones building whine racks and such for their camping machine. Or, because of it.

This system is currently in test mode and at this time refusals do not count against your acceptance %. When this system is integrated with the current dispatch system that will change. if your not the 1st truck up for the load, then your turn down wont count, but if in fact your the DVA guy, that turn down does coount.
Yes the system is in beta form, and they are trying to work out a way to use voice response rather than keyboard. As I have told them, sometimes its very difficult useing this system when there isnt anywhere to pull off the road.

To ask a driver on a load offer to pull over and stop on the side of the road to write down the run number on paper then type that number into the C-Link to except a load is not going to work. This can lead to an accident on the side of the road or put the driver in a hurry to pull over which can cause a accident. The way the loads was offered before it only took the driver to hit a load except and that was it. When i'm getting a load offer I want to talk to a person not a computer.

Twice now while pulling over to the sholder, the Blue Lights pulled in right behind me to see what I was doing. One pointed out the dangers of this action. I agreed. The next exit would have caused a time out and a PO dispatcher.

i carry two cell phones.i agree that by the time you find a safe place to handle the dispatch offer, your load might time out.what ive done is call dispatch on second phone and told them the problem, then was put in contact with dispatcher, was told about load the old fashon way, as stated before, they are working on getting the phone to a voice response

Well good point its a Saftey Hazard and guess what Some body needs to do their job and fix it. Right on the money man. For those that dont know California got the new cell phone law in Effect as of JULY & ya best not have a cell phone in hand and to your ear doing business while driving it will cost ya plenty of money. Lets just put it this way the cost of a Trip to Paradise Island and back for U and your better half well thats about the price of the ticket and all the costs. Some body ought to take it up the Chain and get it fixed. Weather its pulling over on the side to type a pro number in on the qual com or trying to get through the busy phone lines is this realy all necessary. some people can multitask and some cant.
its sorta like riding a bike and chewing gum at the same time. or rubbing your belly while patting your head some people can and some people cant.

If this system is in test mode then why do all the refusals show up in the truck stats.

I do not know what you are looking at Bruno but when you get a load opportunity and refuse it your refusal numbers do not change.
It sounds as if it might be well worth you time to go to the office or call your CC and go over a lot of these issues you are having with this system. Get the facts and maybe some ideas on how to work with this new system.
