My clutch is the other most important risk to my knee.
that is one of the reasons I gave up driving a straight truck no such thing as an automatic then...my clutch knee was screaming at me...the Topkick was the easier to drive without using the clutch...the turning radius was a joke in them..they made a 3 point turn into a 12 point turn....

Although a manual straight truck gets better mileage than an automatic, If I drove a manual my knee would be killing me. That is why my new truck has the Eaton Ultrashift. no clutch pedal and gets near the mileage of a manual
An automatic manual if that makes sense LOL

It is just that an automatic manual.

I have to put up with it for a while more.

Greg, you don't like your autoshift? I love mine.

Dakota, it should get the same mileage as a standard shift. The delivery of power is the same.

Yea, my 6+1 with a heavy clutch is a great autoshift when I shift it. :p

You guys know that both autoshifts and ultrashifts are both manual transmissions, right?

I'm already liking the mileage I am getting. I received the truck with 305 miles on it and according to the trip mileage computer am getting an 8.5 mpg average. I've put an addition 300 on it in the last couple of days and it seems to be holding steady.
This is a combination of city and highway driving up to 70mph although I like to keep it at 65 for better mileage.
My truck has the 4.11 rear end and the Eaton Ultrashift 5 speed.
So I could easily see high 9's once the engine is broken in and if I slow down a little
I have driven these trucks with this tranny and like them except when it comes to backing up, maybe it takes practice but it seems that it goes into neutral if you don't keep your foot on the gas, so I have to use the gas and brake at same time to hit the dock.

In 1969 Volkswagen had the automatic stickshift in the Beetles, it was only a two speed though low and high.
Yes, I know the Ultrashift is a manual, but unlike a tractor it doesn't have a clutch pedal and the shifter looks like a automatic.

dakota its better on truck if you bump the dock not HIT the dock.
after awhile of practice you will be able to kiss the dock.

p.s. to all hoosiers kiss the dock is a trucker figure of speech. it means when backing truck into dock to gently come into contact with dock. verses putting truck in reverse and hitting the dock.

Dakota, I know you know that I know what you know.

BUT with that said, the VW was an autostick, not an auto stickshift. :p

Well I was going to save this as a surprise for next years Expo..but I just can not contain myself...

January of 2010 when I was admitted to hospital for my stent procedure I weighed in at 322...a personal high and disappointment to say the least..

over the next few months I managed to get it down to where I've been for the last 6 years or so...mid 300's but could never manage to break 310...it was frustrating...

After JuJu's great success with Nutri-SystemD program I went on the Silver program...that was around July 10th...@311 pounds

At the Expo I was tilting 300 mark...a few days after I reached my first goal and was dancing on the ceiling so to speak I hit 299!!

Here it is the end of August and this morning I hit...TADA
282....

Total from beginning of year of 40 pounds lost!!

and from July 10th a total of 29 pounds...on the Nutri-System.

Could have done better I think..it is tough to keep to the meal plans at times, but I manage the best I can...

I maybe still ugly, but I am a slimmer ugly...*LOL*

My goal is 225 by years end....

Talk about a topic change?*lol*

Frustrating to say the least...goes to show how much exercise effects the loss...3 days of constant driving and no walking really slowed me down...I tend to take on water and bloat somewhat...

275.8...in the right direction still....should be better this week...:D

You are right on the money with that driving stuff messing up your weight. I once told another expedite, who was visiting at my house, that IF I could do ALL the duck hunting that I wanted to do I would weigh only about 12 pounds. Not only does the MOVENMENT help but you tend to eat less as well.

I lost 4lbs just from water bloat in the last 36 hours......amazing how much the body retains and quickly at that...
