To avoid pending tax changes....smooth move IMO

Renouncing citizenship is an option chosen by increasing numbers of Americans. A record 1,780 gave up their U.S. passports last year compared with 235 in 2008, according to government records.

Income-tax rates for top U.S. earners will rise to 39.6 percent from 35 percent next year, and rates on capital gains and dividends also are scheduled to rise unless Congress blocks the increases.

More power to him!! More people are renoucing their citizenship then at any other time in history as the article pointed out. Rlent and I have talked about this on here in the passed, its nothing new, just more and more are doing it because people are getting to the point that they no longer believe that the government is working as it was suppose to.

I get a newsletter weekly that outlines all the latest places to go and how tobecome citizens there. It is a growning "cottage industry"....I have an uncle that lives in Costa Rico and has dual citizenship and he is at a point that they fed gov is taxing him crazy and he is abiut ready to tell them to take a hike and give up his citizenship...he has even offered all his kids (3) and nieces and nephews a "plot" of land deeded to them if they want to follow that line of action...believe me, my wife and i have talked about it, but with the grand kids here now....it will have to get worse before id leave...but it isn't out of the question....Its not just the rich that is doing this either, alot of people that are American citizens but wirk overseas or just out of the country are doing this also...the IRS regulations for those people are a giant pita..and if an American citizen working overseas happens to marry a citizen of the country they are working in, the IRS makes them prove seperate income and has gone to the point of trying to tax their non American citizens spouses income....people are getting fed up with our governement in more ways then alot of people realize...

I also want to know how many U.S. citizens defect because they are harrased by the border agents trying to get home from spendig the day in Niagara Falls Cananda? Gettig into Cananda three simple questions and "enjoy your stay in Cananda." Getting back into the us with all our documents
everything short of a beating with a rubber hose and a strip search.

Renouncing your citizenship and running is NOT the answer. Soon there will be no where left to run. The answer is taking back control of OUR government. A tax revolt by those of us who are the 'producers' would be FAR more effective.

It's time to fish or cut bait.

It is time to put up or shut up.

It starts in November. As I have been saying for YEARS, VOTE ALL THE BUMS OUT!

1800 leaving will not sway the duds in charge, not when millions are risking every thing to come here. The ONLY way the duds will listen is to take away their monopoly money.

It is time for us to stand up and fix our own problems. Mexico is in the mess it is in because far too many did nothing or chose to cut and run. Those who did cut and run will soon find out that the mess they had there is coming here. The weak shall be ruled. They will end up with exactly what they left.

The "super rich" leaving will have little to no effect on the tax thing. When every small business owner stops paying their taxes the effect will be FAR greater. The combined income of the majority of producers is much more than the few super rich who may leave. That is why a 'super tax' on the 'super rich' will never solve the problem. Their are just not enough of them to make any real difference. The bigger part of the problem is the close to 50% who pay nothing. If they started to pay their share of the burden the rest of use would have to pay less.

Getting sent to prison won't help anyone.

Neither does running. Stand up, say no, do not submit to arrest. The "Minute Men" did not run, they had the courage to stand their ground. They won. It is rapidly reaching that point again. One can choose to be a mouse or be a MAN. Mice ALWAYS end up losing. Sooner or later something eats them.

I would have been FAR more impressed if they had said, "We are stayin' and we ain't payin'"!!

Absolutely, but you know what, not enough will stand up and support them...when you have half the country not paying any type of income tax at all, because they feel entitled to live off those that do produce and the Libs on the left continue to pander to them, you can't get enough of the people to stand up and do what is needed to clean house of the elected trash...the fight to even get rid of the pos in the wh now is going to be a struggle, getting people to do more, just doesn't look feasible..so people are taking what the make and taking it with them out of the country and saying "stick it"...

The numbers in the above article if looked at closely , will show just what i said earlier..most of them are people that are live in other countries and working there and that the IRS is screwing with 1 way or another. The newsletter I get goes into this in detail on how these people are basically being forced to decide between their country and a spouse they have married that is not a US citizen because of what our government is doing to them... ther are organizations that will walk you through this process...and our f has taken notice of it and instead of working to fix the problems, they are lookinged gov for ways to punish people....

The government is so far out of hand as to the "people being in control" that fighting them is becoming impossible strictly because of the sheer #'s that are willing to let the libs take care of them from cradle to grave.....

As I said, since my grandkids have been born in the last 2 yrs, the chances of me leaving are pretty slim...but id have no problem fighting back....
