Gave Canton a day then Winona a day and then Friday headed towards home for the weekend. But, I ladled chum out the back of the boat and let my line trail a bit to see if I could get anything. Pulled in to Jackson, TN to get things cleaned up and stowed away, and as I was filling the reel with wet line I got a hard strike that took the hook deep. Dragged the boat over to Lexington and I finally landed the beast just a little southwest of South Padre Island.

Taahd Tokens!!

Still have some sitters, but load count was better again this week. Has been steadily climbing the last few weeks. I am optimistic!

Not to be a Debbie downer but July is right around the corner. So stay in service as much as possible is my thinking right now.

For the last two years we have worked to secure a larger home for the company. Searches for larger buildings with the size of property that we needed for our extensive parking needs yielded no results. We were also limited by our desire to keep the company in relatively close proximity to it's current location.

After not being able to find a building, we were left with the choice of looking for land and constructing a new terminal.

We searched based on number of criteria:
1) Close proximity to the I 94/ I 275 interchange
2) Ease of highway access for the fleet
3) Size of the property
4) Highway frontage if possible
5) Class A road
6) Cost and cost of development
7) Security and safe area

I am pleased to announce that we have completed a tentative deal with Wayne County to purchase approx 45 acres of land. The parcel meets all of our criteria at this time. While the deal in approved, a few more hurdles exist until it is 100% complete. The property is currently going through enviormental testing, and engineering studies to make sure it is cost effective for construction. These factors could still delay or terminate the deal.

The property is located at the South West corner of Pennsylvania and Warham Roads. It is between Warham and I 275. Currently if you go south on Warham off of Eureka the road ends at Pennsylvania. As part of the deal the county is currently installing underground utilities and will be extending Warham to Sibley with a brand new class A road. Our staff and trucks will have easy access to I 275 off of either Sibley or Eureka Road. Both exits are approx 1 mile or less away.

A number of variables exist still, but we will probably see development of the property begin early next year. We are most likely looking at 2 year time table as the county has to finish their work by winter before we can commence on our end.

It is our hope to work with our staff and drivers to design and build a highly functional facility to provides for the needs of our people. I am sure everyone will have a ton of great ideas! We will have many breakout meetings to discuss layouts, concepts and ideas with all of our staff in the future. I want to do some really cool great things and make it the best place to work, collaborate and enjoy!!!!

I just want to say how exciting and proud I am to lead such a great group of people and companies. Our teams are second to none. We will continue to work hard to improve the organization to make us a best in class organization.

Congratulations to everyone!

The plan is to sell or lease out our current facilities. We really want everything under one roof.
