My question is this: If Load One can do all that they are doing for their drivers,( 100% of the fsc to the drivers,Driver appreciation day pay,Thanksgiving pay,Above-normal pay,Layover pay, relocation pay, etc,)And still turn a profit and expand in many different directions, why can't other carriers do the same?

John reminds me somewhat of Henry Ford.Remember when he created the middle class by paying his employees the highest pay ever?Load One is a class act and others should follow and learn from them.Simple as that.Hats off to you, John.

Dave/Guido..because they won't and don't have to...there are enough desperate people to recruit...I actually can;t wait for the economy to pick up...so people won't be signing up as fast for this crappy lifestyle...

You know OVM one of the biggest factors a lot see about this is NOT having to own the van to get into it. I feel, and others I think do too, that maybe there should be a strict rule - no van fleet owners

This simple but effective rule will prevent a lot of people who are not just marginal operators but those who will take anything from actually getting into this.

You seen how many people complain "I can't afford a van" or "I can't find one" and actually seem really desperate to make an easy buck by just being a steering wheel holder and that's it!

The relationship to the Cab industry and this one are very similar...in the cabs vs vans...it takes a no talent, scruff of the earth...uneducated bumpkin to drive either one...total desperate nigcompoops...

Re: The Grinch Stole Christmas...

It has been kinda slow now and ASE has just deducted the annual $200 "Processing Fee" from drivers statements...

At least Spencer will have a good Christmas...

I think that Load 1 is actually operating the way that all of the companies should. Only bring on a certain amount of vehicles that they believe they can keep loaded with good paying freight.
What's the point in having 1000 units if you can only keep 300 loaded. Having 700 units sitting will cause the company to bid lower to get those trucks moving, driving the rates down even further.
Some of the companies have too many trucks in their fleet. But what does it matter? It costs them nothing and they make money on the Quallcoms.

John told me once when I sat in his office. If I make an honest living and my O/O make a good living that keeps them profitable, I'm doing a good job. John looks a the big picture, some people see a glass of water that is not filled to the top as being half empty. John and I see it as being half full and want to get the glass full of water. It's all about how you look at things, then you can get to where you want to be. John is not about trying to make a killing off his O/O by charging them for everything under the sun in fee's, Qc charges, road taxs and many other things other carriers charge. Load1 will be in the top five within the next few years as the company grows. Load1 is already in the top 10 carriers already.

Other carriers need to take a look at what Load1 is doing because the O/O are from what I been reading here on EO. Great job John.

Hey...now Load1 is not perfect..we do get the odd operational glitch...paperwork lost, miscommunications..and stuff and that is par for a growing company...BUT John and staff don't put their heads in the sand..they get resolved in a timely manner...AND the doubt is always given to the O/O..we aren't not to be made felt stupid of...

I realize there is no perfect company out there, but, from a drivers point of view, I see them as close as it gets.Very few driver complaints, probably the fewest in the E.O. nation.

Who"s side am I on, many may be wondering.Nobody's.I remain neutral, and call it as I see it.

jj i am not defending companies that over hire. it hurts every driver out on the road. i will say though that your opinion is biased towards a driver. nothing wrong with that. but there are reasons a company would hire more than they need. it can be to their benefit besides the qualcomm fees. lucky for load1 drivers john doesnt currently believe in doing that.

I believe if you check your Ford Motor Co. history. Henry Ford gave his employees a raise so they could afford the product they were producing.:D

So based on this theory some of my units will start calling in good paying loads!

It has been brought to my attention by another collegue of mine, that this is deducted annually from each driver, as to when he signs on,not all drivers at once, as it may appear on here.

A "processing fee" or "admin charge" is BULL crap..IMO

It is just a cash grab at best.....all admin and running authorities should be the responsibility of the carrier and supposed to be in the money they keep from each load...This is just bonus bucks for them...

E-1 will take their..."Processing fee" in the first of the year..$150...
