I change my oil out here....just let the engine warm up the oil a bit...try not to get it too hot...and the oil drains jiffy quick....still takes 10 minutes or less...depends on how long you let it drain....change the filter while its draining...Voila!! Cash in the bank.

BTW the miles you run..you might have to do maybe 2 changes....:pokepoke:

Well the good news, on 2nd attempt with the new fuel filter, got the van started.

Bad news, I have a leak now. Looks like I damaged a O-ring while taking it apart. Also, it sure would have been nice to know I needed to remove the water/fuel bleed screw off the old one and put on the new one.

Before I threw it out

You would think so with an $11,000 new engine.

The first couple of times can be a little rough. It gets easier ...

I'm pretty sure I watched YouTube videos as tutorials for this basic stuff.

Don't strip out those two little screws or you will never get the leak stopped. Fuel on top of the filter is a give away.

The 2nd screw (B) does not fit tight, but I don't think that's where its leaking from, although really hard to tell where its coming from.

Part (A) is in pretty rough condition and I think it needs to be replaced. I took a chunk out of the O-ring while trying to use a screw driver to help pry it loose on first attempt. Opps

I'm going to try to find a matching O-ring to replace. If that don't work, I guess I'll have to drip my way down to Wayne and let him fix my mess

Speaking of Wayne ..... is there some Bat Phone number to get in touch with him? I tried a number that Turtle posted. What's the best way to reach him?

My engine wiring harness needs to be replaced. A few weeks ago when I was out in OR my alternator died & had to be replaced. Ever since then I have an unnerving intermittent stalling issue. I've been trying to figure it out. Engine has been spitting out all sorts of codes .. injectors, etc. Got confirmation on Fri .. yep, it's the harness. It hasn't put me out of service yet .. but eventually it will.

Yup, had a nice PFJ shower near Lake Fastworthy this AM. Arrived yesterday after load from Houston. Hopefully I can start a nice string of miles

He responds well to text. Make sure to introduce yourself if you don't know him. Tell him what you need and when you could come see him.

He's usually under/ in the middle of sprinter repair.

Dang temperamental Sprinter. Coming up short on the O-ring hunt. Either to thin or to thick. Won't even start without the exact match in. Must be some stupid special order MB part.
And of course after every attempt I have to go through the whole priming again

I think I remember why I never wanted to mess with this crap
