I was told that they deduct $250 for a level 2......kind of a trade off.....right?

I was on my way to Jacksonville,FL This morning and traveling east on I 26 in North Carolina,Just as I round the curve at the bottom of the mountain there sits a NC DOT...Traffic was like a Holiday weekend and it was all I could do to move over, I'M looking in my mirrors and here comes the blue lights .He pulls in behind me lights going and I get off at a exit to be safe..First words out his mouth you did nothing wrong, but I was thinking you could use a level 2 insp...checks me out ,log book ,bol,etc...I then asked if he would like to do a level 1 on me and he says this is not the safest place to do a level 1..I said I can drive to the closest location if you would like sir..his reply was your company must pay you for a passing level 1. I answered yes sir, and they pay us well..maybe next time was his answer..
My question now is John E...do i get 125 dollars for a level 1....LOL....

Got a nice call just now from the dealer I been working with on getting a van but looks like cargo max won't be ready till a while but offered a Spartan for 13500 difference from the cargo max. Question is is the cargo max worth more in its features over the Spartan or what hmmm.

But talked to Brian and he said not taking anything right now so really no point in getting a van but figured I could buy now take my time setting things up and it be ready to roll once there is an openings available.

Smart man.Depending on how far you want to go with setting it up, I have learned it takes more money and time than I ever have imagined. But, worth it in the end, given the amount of time we spend in these.

Chris, I like the Spartan body (wouldnt have to be a spartan...I would imagine any body mfr could put one together). My concern would be getting the specs I would want. If I were looking at a used van with a spartan body, I would be willing to compromise some depending on the price.

If buying new, I would be pretty picky about a few things...13' length min...70" door height min...50" between wheels wells min, and probably a few other things given some time to think about it.

I would suggest getting a spec sheet from the salesman and going over very closely. I would also run the idea past him of a special order box. If I could get the Spartan body with MY specs and save some money, I would be all over it.

Yeah, I know it is for the heater and a/c both, but I sure was needing it for the a/c when it let out it's death scream lol. I just about stood straight up in the seat! In mere moments went from chirps, to whistle, to scream to vibrating death rattles lol. I wasn't sure WHAT was coming apart, but I knew something was!

Thanks for the links, I havent even looked at it... didnt know how easy it would be to get to.

BTW..Turtle says if you takes you longer then 10 minutes to change out..you are a dofus...LOL

Chris,

I think the spartans don't get nearly the fuel economy of the cargomaxx.

Not that I have found. Went through several dealers. Then called the Missouri dealer they had two but the one I want is spoken for. There is one in Arizona but I looked all over Google and called about 8 dealers no one has them. Called cargo max and was told they have some chasis being made but don't have any in stock.

Myself and Kenny along with Dennis has both had conversations on what they recommend on the cargo max just can't find one. Would like to find a used unit and drive it till I can wait to see what Ford will come out with in the transit but finding one is the hard part lol
