Meanwhile, it's now 11 AM because that's how long it takes to drive 35 blocks in Manhattan during rush hour and you still haven't figured out how to get to that damned alley.

Or maybe you'll get a load delivering at 0900 to the United Nations and you want to get there early to beat the traffic and pay the lower tunnel toll before 0600 so you go in at 0500 and park on the street next to the UN Building. They luv it when windowless cargo vans park right next to the UN in the early morning hours. You'll be very popular, everyone will want to meet you.
Like I said, total chaos :D

I went to exactly the same place 5 or 6 days a week for 9 years straight. I'm enjoying the job again

Ok curiosity here what's the special task? Rocket engine?

Nothing too major, well major if I tried to do it. Installed an electrical on/off switch he didn't know I wanted haha. And clumsy me I just broke it.

Side note: newbie forklift driver did some nice artwork to my floor today

Loaded Merrifield, MN. to Greenville, TN. Drop Monday morning, might have to check out that Knoxville, IA dirt track.
Had to change out the 6 volt deep cycle auxiliary batteries, dang they are 16 inches tall, heavy and kind of spendy. Old ones lasted 5 years, hope these are good ones.

So I woke up @ the Walmart truck stop with dead battery's.. Yes my fault, ya see I was so tired from actually working all week I feel asleep with all my accessories left on. So a big shout out to Chris in the Sprinter (XPO) who never batted a eye and came over to give me a jump start..Great guy, I wanted to buy him breakfast but the only thing he would accept was a cold soda. Another hour in this tin can and I would have been cooked in this heat. Thanks again brother.

This is the most boring Sunday ever. OVM, leave home again, it's too quiet on EO. TNIGHT is being a rock star roadie. Kick-started, where are you? Vandriver2 and Maggie have run away. Mark is incommunicado. Akkshole is stuck out west and Mailer is headed east. I don't even know what movie Ragman watched last night. Murray is so quiet he must be on the Wagon. Fastman must be chasing his 4 legged toolbox. Hello, hello, is anybody out there?

I don't even know what movie Ragman watched last night.
For those inquiring minds.... Saturday was spent staying indoors in my air-conditioned Pile of Rags watching classic Frankie and Annette beach movies. It was just too darn hot to do anything else.

Today the State of Michigan graced us with beautiful weather, so Ragmama and I took advantage of the free fishing weekend.

Life doesn't get any better than this.......

While I agree, needing a license is a reality. It is, what it is...... Even Layoutshooter gets a license.
I do, too. Living next to Ky Lake, and oftentimes having a boat of one kind or another, ya kinda have to have a fishing license, if ya wanna fish. When we lived out in the county we had a large fishing pond stocked with fish and I didn't have to have a license to fish there, but I still bought an annual fishing license regardless (one, because I know where the money goes, and two, on the off chance that I wanted to take a spur of the moment trip over to the lake to fish). In Kentucky, the Dept of Fish and Wildlife isn't funded at all by tax dollars, it's primarily funded by hunting and fishing licenses and boat registration fees, so it's not like the $20 for a fishing license is a waste. It's probably like that in most states. And the Department does do mostly good in that it promotes hunting and fishing, and in managing the conservation and resources. They came out and did a lot of work on our pond, shored up an embankment, and since the pond was spring fed they opened up the spring and put it a more efficient draining system to keep the pond sustainable and oxygenated long term. Then they stocked it with fish. All at no cost.

I'm still morally opposed to having to obtain a license to fish for food. :)
