Don't feel bad. I've been sitting at home for over a week now waiting for my insurance check so I can get my van repaired from the deer hit. Also paying out the wazoo to save a bad back molar. If I need a root canal and pin with core build-up and cap plus a deep cleaning; it's gonna run me around 1600 bucks. I already spent 400 on prescription glasses and to get a second opinion on an eye problem.

Apparently I now have full functioning 3-d vision; just had the wrong prescription glasses for 3 years. Eh! At least I can freaking see now. I also have to find me some used front end parts "which I have located really chaep" so I can do most of the damage repair myself. The insurance company wrote the estimate using after market parts and then took the 1k deductible from the low ball estimate. But I can still get the work done for under 700; so i'm not sweating that.

You are with a very good company, TJP. They don't come better than E-1. The only problem is that the teams seem to get the better runs at times. That is the only beef that I ever had with E-1. Have you ever thought about getting yourself a mail order bride up in that sprinter with ya? It's a thought at least! I think you will do better if you hang in there. E-1 seems to have a lot more freight moving than they did when I was leased on to them back in 2008.

Just keep your calm and prepare for another week. I always get angry when I see people posting how many miles they are getting; I start hitting the dash board and cursing and go through the different scenarios in my mind "should I quit, jump companies, go home, etc" It's just a part of this job TJP. Things will get better. I have been through three vans in 4 years and i'm still surviving out here. I am like Bruce Willis in Die Hard. You are pretty tuff too; you'll do better next week.

I get adjitated all of the time; sometimes it is not a good thing. I quit panther after making 15k in less than three months simply because they swapped a good I had. I got so angry I was almost went blind and I jumped companies on a whim. You gotta sit back and realize that it's just part of the job. I really have to restrain myself and calm myself down a lot because I don't intend on jumping companies again for a long time. I need some stability right now.

Have you tried to send dispatch cheesecake? Maybe we can get Cheff to send them some of his signature cheesecake. If not, i'd just try and have a talk with them. That is one of my shortcomings; I will never discuss an issue with my company. Now I try and call in a bit more and see if they can maybe pull a magic load out of a hat for ya.

The only trick I have when things are going slow is to come out west. So far it has worked for me with every carrier that i've been with. I almost had a load from San Diego back to Louisville KY for tomorrow but I am out of service until next Thursday. Maybe you can shake it up a bit by getting away from the other vanners out there.

I deadheaded all the way to my brothers house in Portlant Oregon when I was with E-1 and got a load from there down to Los Angeles and then another load from Los Angeles to Phoenix, then that same day Nogales to Sterling Heights Michigan. I made 3k in one week. I'm not sure if that is the answer for you; but it is just a suggestion. I'm not trying to imply history repeats itself, but you might get lucky.

Better watch out everyone I kicked but these last 9 days. Here's the stats...963 loaded miles, 74 deadhead. Van grossed a whopping 901.23. Screw that bullcrap. An I sat 5 full days number 1? Not very happy right now.

and that deer meeting has wiped out any profit for the owner since the beginning and into the future for a bit...you really want to be a fleet owner of CV's?

FINALLY finished the "run from hell". In reality, the run it self was good, it was our "added" person that was the problem. Glad it's over. We delivered our final drop in Baltimore and got predispatched will we were still unloading. Have a Monday pick up near Harrisburg headed for Virginia Beach. Sitting a in motel outside of Harrisburg trying to recover from last week. LOVE those hot tubs!!!:D
