I had that happen to my sprinter two weeks ago while getting condenser replaced but luckily they were able to save it. Glad I took it to an ac specialist.

The condenser is $350. I'm taking it, and the hose, to an a/c place, to see if they can repair the threads. I'm hoping it'll save me 200 or so off the new/ rebuilt one.

Took the truck in for a busted a/c hose. When they went to disconnect it from the condenser, it stripped the threads. No telling how much I'm looking at now.

"It" stripped the threads.......what was it, meatball surgery????
Really, really tuff to strip threads going out.

He said two aluminum pieces together that long tend to weld themselves to each other. Instead of having them get a new condenser and hose ($500), I took it to a radiator shop. They'll put a new fitting on the condenser AND repair the hose for $130.

I'm headed to the KC Hook right now. What are you driving? Maybe I'll stop and say hi.
