Started Monday mid afternoon with a Milwaukee to Saskatoon, then DH (fuel paid) down to Williston ND to p/u a small crate going to Philipsburg PA. Over 3,500 miles by 7 am Friday morning. Got a good week going, helps with the few bad weeks I've had recently.

Sitting at home at the moment, in the process of deciding whether to take a run that sounds like a really bad idea. It has to be kept below 65 degrees, in my van, for a ten hour drive on one of the hottest nights we've had this year. The low for tonight is forecast to be 78 degrees.

I'm barely insulated (1/2" foam board insulation, such as it is) and only the standard front air conditioning aided by an oscillating fan that's mounted between the seats on my ceiling. Even given the greedy desire for the money this would pay, I'm having trouble imagining I'd be able to keep the temps down. Certainly trying to keep a twenty degree difference between inside the van and the outside air is laughable. For the record, right now my air conditioner is putting out between 50 and 60 degrees as measured at the dash vents.

I think I'd pass MJM. What are they saying will happen if things go wrong? When I was in my van I picked up some stuff in Omaha that needed to be kept warm. Dispatch wasn't told about this before hand. It was 28 degrees and my van had the Alumibunk bulkhead. It was going to Virginia and I knew it would be well above freezing by the time I got to KC, so we decided to go for it. They said if the stuff got too cold, the caps on the pails would start to pop and I'd have a heck of a mess, but there was no problem.

I'm in Hazleton, PA.

From the nice people of Roadway gave me two thermal drums or pails covers. I was picking up a load from there and they were three hours late getting me loaded and it was raining. The dockworker said don't worry about them, take them. So now if dispatch calls me this winter for drums that need to be cover an kept from freezing, ive got something and hoping it should be more $$$$

Like a scene from an old wartime novel, I'll be meeting some Canuck at The Ambassador.
Doesn't that sound romantic?!?!
