It wasn't as much fun as the Expo

Thanks Cheri, I've been told that spending time with me isn't as much fun as a whole lot of things.

(Highway Star's lower lip quivers and his eyes become misty as he contemplates the pathetic disaster that is his life.)

We tried to make the Expo this year but luck just wasn't with us. As if we weren't disappointed enough we ran into 2 other teams this morning and they both snubbed us. This doesn't happen very often but I must admit it makes me mad that someone who is basically doing the same job that we are thinks they are so much better than us. The four of them were together and I guess there just wasn't room for us in their foursome. I must admit people like that make me not want to talk to anyone any more. Maybe next year our luck will be better and we will make it to the Expo. So far we have only met one person from on here, Critical Mass. We were unlucky enough to be at the same unliked shipper :p Right now we are hoping to get a load out of here tomorrow but things don't look good, there are quite a few in line in front of us :(

To be fair, there could be a dozen reasons why two teams may want to gather and exclude others. It could have been a meeting with a fleet owner and a prospective team. They may be scheduled to do a run together and were getting their ducks in a row. They might just be very good friends who have not met up in a long time.

It happens here and there that an expediter feels snubbed by others when the others have genuine work to do or are legitimately preocupied. At certain times, and in certain circumstances, some expediters are duty-bound to keep to themselves.

No expediter is obligated to be open and friendly toward others. Before getting upset about how someone else treated you, try looking at it from the other person's point of view.

Having reached our mix and mingle saturation point at the Expo, we checked out of the hotel on Sunday, went back into service and retreated to a quiet place near Wilmington to relax and wait for freight.

Diane and I thoroughly enjoyed the show but started missing each other as our usual time together was interruped. It's nice to be back home in the truck again.

With the number of trucks in the area, we don't expect much action until at least Monday. I'm using the time to work on the photo album and catch up on things that were put off to prepare for the show.

Valid points but let's flip the coin over and also say that in such a case a 47 second break to say "Hi, we're A and B and unfortunately in the middle of a planning meeting for a run (or whatever) but please when you see us again say hello and hopefully we'll be free then to visit a while. We just can't take any time out right now or we'll be late. I'm sure you know how that is." wouldn't hurt a thing. Both sides need to look at it from the other person's point of view, not just one.

We finally got a load from Minneapolis to Roumulus on Tues that delivered on Wed. On Thurs we got a load from Dearborn, MI to Laredo (So we had to miss the Expo. :( ) That load delivered on Sat morning and on Sat afternoon we got a load from Laredo back up to Romulus that delivered this morning. We will be spending the night at E1 in Buchanan. We're taking a load from there tomorrow to Virginia. Busy, busy, busy. I'm just sorry we had to miss the Expo. Maybe next year.
