I am not sure that I agree with that Moot, maybe it WAS the time for open debate.

No, it WASN'T the time for open debate. It was a time for the President to address Congress and the nation. Simple, he talks and you shut up and listen.

What if a relative of yours was in the military in Iraq and was killed in action. The body is flown home. During the funeral service some :censoredsign: stands and shouts "baby killer". Total lack of respect, protocol, decorum, etc. etc. Wrong time, wrong place.

A man shouts fire in a movie house. Wrong time, wrong place if there is no fire.

A man shouts movie house in a fire station.

A man walks into a bar, ouch!

A sandwich walks into a bar.....

Joe Wilson was wrong. If he wants to call the President a liar he can do so in an open session, interview, press release, etc.

There is no debate on this issue, there is no reaching out to the other side and there is no "let's listen to what the people say". It doesn't matter if the President was making a speech, until he stops with his BS of "I want to debate this" and then allows a selective debate within the party, staged performances at the "town halls", going on the campaign trail, hitting selective news shows and poorly performing entertainment shows and so on, Wilson is right in speaking his mind for his constituents at that time. The republicans have yet to show any backbone and prove that they are worthy enough to have a second look at them. They should be in there fighting with everything they got but fail to even consider a fight.

The sad thing is this is all staged by the people at the propaganda office in the WH, they spun this to make it a deflection of the real issue and it seems to have failed for now except here.

I don't argue that there MIGHT have been a better time and place to call out Obama on his lies on this subject. There is NO comparison to your other examples though. There is a HUGE difference between politics and interfering with funerals, or shouting fire in a movie etc. I was under the impression that the Houses of Congress IS the proper venue for political debate. It is NOT taking place now. It is NOT the job of the President to pass laws, that is the job of Congress. The President should stay in the White House where he belongs. What HE wants is of NO relevence to this legislation. It is what WE want. He, and congress, are there to do OUR bidding. WE need to have OPEN and HONEST debate. Our Coward in Chief is doing all he can to stiffle that.

And just so everyone knows, IF ANYONE EVER protested, shouting lies etc at a military funeral for one of MY reletives I promise you that it would be their LAST PROTEST!!! You can bet your booty on that.

I still can't help but be amused by the manufactured liberal outrage and concern for disrespect for the office of the presidency. Where was this outrage when the clown from Iraq threw his shoes at Bush? What would happen if somebody from another country throws shoes at Obama? The democrats would probably want to declare war against his country and have his beheading shown on all the cable channels. Wilson should have kept quite for two reasons: (1) it was inappropriate considering the venue and (2) it gives the liberals something else to whine about and create another distraction from the real issues.

The shameful thing is the attempt on the part of the liberal press and others to turn this action into an act of racism. This is a blinding example of a gratuitous assertion without a shred of foundation (I know that's redundant). However, I guess we'll have to get used to seeing anyone who disagrees with The One and his radical agenda being accused of racism. Of course any objective eye can see this lame argument is totally devoid of any intellectual basis; it only serves to distract from the subject at hand, discredit the accuser and provide emotional red meat to the liberal true believers. This tactic will lose its effectiveness as Obama's tenure in office grows and people gain more awareness of what his agenda is and start to see the effects of his radical socialist policies. He's only been in office eight months, and look at the public disapproval that's already developed. We can only pray that his bumbling cowardice won't result in another terrorist attack or the eruption of another full scale war if Israel attacks the Iranian nuclear sights that Obama implicitly sanctioned. After listening to some of his speech to the UN today, there doesn't seem to much reason for foreign policy optimism in the near future.
