Will do our best. We have an unnamed competitor running a "sale" this week, cutting the rates and offering no fuel surcharge.

Frustrating when we have to fight such short term logic, but it is good for you guys to know what we go up against!

*nudge nudge* Bout time those boys in sales went after non auto business eh?;)

They do, we actually do not make an effort to target automotive. But if the auto plants are down it softens everyone up. It also creates a lot of excess capacity from the guys who are primarily auto. Thus capacity will exceed demand and it puts downward pressure on rates.

As well a lot of smaller carrier need to maintain cash flow and will run at subprime rates so they can maintain credit line availability to fund operations.

The old rule of supply and demand is in place..I do understand that John. These smaller carriers that are running at subprime are really hurting the industry..and indirectly the owner-operators. We've run a lot of trips in our previous life with airline parts and they were at a Load 1 price.

Now you know why that nice fella I worked with a long time ago in sales called me a yenta...*LOL* I think the definition is something like a meddlesome mother...

Thanks Juju. Still got a little sniffel left, no biggie compared to what it was.

I thought it was a 100. I did a 19 after going in service and came as the only one around. I know there is a unit in Hagerstown, according to Google maps its 74 miles. That's why I was wondering. Probably is 75. Ya'll have fun. Lookn forward to getting back on the road.
