Poem Competition.
These are entries to a Washington Post competition asking for a rhyme with the most romantic first line but least romantic second line:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss
But I only slept with you, because I was pizzed.
I thought that I could love no other
Until, that is, I met your brother.
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty and so is your head.
Of loving beauty you float with grace
If only you could hide your face
Kind, intelligent, loving and hot;
This describes everything you are not
I want to feel your sweet embrace
But don't take that paper bag off of your face
I love your smile, your face, your eyes-
darn, I'm good at telling lies!
I see your face when I am dreaming.
That's why I always wake up screaming
My love, you take my breath away.
What have you stepped in to smell this way
My feelings for you no words can tell,
Except for maybe "go to hell"
What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime. ........................:p
Your poem to long...but Good
The only thing winter is good for is ice fishing!
iceshelter.jpg
Lot's like to ski, sled, snowmobile or ice skate. I am planning on going up north to scout for new deer hunting place now that there is snow to track. There is a TON Of stuff to do in winter.
I am helping to handle some hunting dogs on a pheasant hunt this Sunday then hunting pheasant next Sunday. I LOVE winter, there is SO many fun things to do! This is Michigan, there is always something to do, even in summer.
All fine activities indeed, however, nothing beats relaxing day fishing on the ice. Imo.
I too like to ice fish and maybe I can by next season. My equipment degraded during the 9 years on the road. I also would need a power auger, since my shoulders can no longer stand the strain of a manual auger. I also have to replace the cover on my shanty. I plan to have it all done by next winter.
This story began with a jar of pickles
and a glass of wine!
When E-1 stole all my nickels
and jacked my dime.
Now all I can do is
log onto EO and Whine!
lol
Boo, missed you again. Left Laredo this afternoon, detoured to Eagle Pass on the way to Missippippi.
This time I wanted to stay in Laredo a few days, but darn dispatch got me out in less than 24 hours. Don't they ever sleep, or play solitaire or something instead of looking for loads? At least Ms is not Mi weatherwise.
So I bought a metal detector
on my own dime!
to look for all of those lost nickels
in my spare time.
Good news on my furnace is a trusted friend showed up for the repair.
Bad new is, he said don't put another dime into it.
Not the news I was hoping for, but he did confirm my suspicions :(
