Ready now and I'm right on top of it...Doesn't get any better then that.. Need more weight today with thus wind..load comes in @ 103 lbs
Ok so i park anf idle for a hr to power nap and this happens
It is now *0*, on the dot, at 4' off the ground, on temp sensor/transmitter, located on a branch of a blue spruce in front of my house. It is not in direct sunlight and somewhat protected from the wind. The humidity is 67%, with is a bit high for these kinds of temps. Winds around 20MPH, gusting to 25MPH out of the SW. Winds are predicted to increase and snow later today.
Schools were closed today, not for snow or ice, only because it's cold out. That never once happened around here when we were young. One person on the news said she did not want her child to "experience" that kind of cold. I pity that kid. Why do some think that kids have to be shielded from the realities of nature?
Boston closed their schools as well.....bunch a pussies these days!!!
That's one word for it, wimp is another, as is woose. The more kids are "shielded" from the realities of life and nature, the more useless they are as adults. Afraid of their own shadows. Instead of "shielding" them from this kind of weather, they should be taught the proper way to dress for it and function in it.
" Not wanting to risk a potential furnace issue while I'm away, I'll be waiting on a repairman to check it out tonight. So much for this week "
Wise move. While we did not have a furnace issue while on the road we did have, twice, issues with our basement flooding. Both time caused considerable damage and property loss. That is just one of the many downsides to this business, not being at home to deal with problems that arise. Good luck with the furnace. This is not a good time to be dealing with a furnace problem.
Nobody shielded us....you see the schools at closing times....parents picking up their kid for a 6 block walk!!!.....ridiculous...
I can only recall losing 3 days to weather during my school years. Twice to snow, once, during a cold snap like this, when the school boiler broke down and there was no heat. Back when I was growing up there had to be a snowfall of 10", or greater, for school to be cancelled. Snow like that is rare around here. I do remember, that the couple of times it did happen we were out sled riding until forced by our parents to come home for supper. Being kept indoors was a serious punishment.
I remember ice skating to school during, and after, ice storms. It was right at a mile to school from my house and we rarely were driven.
Well SloRide...you were right about the snow blowing..must be blowing about 30-40 MPH right now and it's blowing the snow every where. Wind is so vicious the cats don't even WANT to go out!
