Not me anymore deadheading to Birmingham, AL since Laredo and Texas sucks
There is a rule that I use when i'm delivering freight in Laredo. It's called "stop, drop, and roll!" If you follow that rule you'll never get stuck in Laredo!

This is true. Of course.... that catchy little slogan you use as a rule will also guarantee that you never do get a load of Laredo. What sounds good on an internet forum can be a pretty dumb business decision in real life. It's called "stop, drop, and roll!" If you follow that rule you'll never get stuck in Laredo!

The most important thing to do after delivering to Laredo is be sure you get plenty of rest. Sleep good at night and take a nap during the day if you can. Because, when you do get a run, it's likely to be a long one.Being a newbie this is my first time in laredo but it seems like vans and straights are rolling out pretty steadily this morning.

you answered your own question....LOLNo a dumb business decision is whining about taking an 80 cent per mile load out of Texas and then deadheading back to california empty to prove a point. That is what one of the "likes" has done and is calling my decision to move out of Laredo a dumb business decision. Why would anyone want to sit for a week in Laredo when you can easily move elsewhere and get back into the freight game. Especially if you get extra money to go into Laredo and use the bonus to get back out.
I don't understand SOME of the logic...
IF you get 1500-1700 $$$ going into Laredo...not a bad pay check...you sit say 8 days and get another 1500-1700$$$ pay check and NO deadhead...so in 2 weeks you've made 3,000 to 3,400$$ ...what am I missing?...
I ve been asked to give out info on how to succeed out here in a van. ......instead I m waiting for the 1000' s out here in unbranded vans & sprinters and the knucklheads that are signed on with some carriers to go belly up. ....thats right Bankrupt ..... and then the strong will survive. ......I have a Dream, someday all expediters will want to make money. ...Not lose money on loads ......My thought for the day. ..
