Had a good month and need a little time off. Plus we left NC about 4 hours before the storm hit and managed to make it home without any delays.

Time to get another doctor

At home, hurt my back on Friday. It is starting to feel a little better today. Seems my back goes out more often the older I get and I'm only 39 (

I was about 39 when that DR told me that!! I also got my first glasses at 39. Now at 59 those nasty things just went on my med card for the first time. They will be on my drivers license the next time I renew. More proof that getting old is NOT for wimps!! It's hard work!!

i think age has nothing to do with it........ i was in my mid 20's and my back went out just bending over and picking up my jeans off the floor.....
ended up having to sleep on the floor on a futon for almost 2 weeks.

I think that eye test machine is rigged to insure that more glasses are sold. I put my head in that thing and cannot read the 20/40 line. When I drive, without glasses, I can read road signs with no problem. I can see other cars, the road, no problem. Nothing is blurry. Yet, when I use that machine it says that I cannot see what I am seeing. Makes no sense to me.

The only thing that the distance glasses has helped is my shotgun shooting. I have trouble seeing from my nose to about 4 feet out, after that, no problem. Before my glasses I would see somewhere between 1 1/2 to two barrels that crossed a bit.

Now I only see one. that really helps!!

My back never goes out when I am lifting something heavy. Seems to go out doing stupid stuff, or nothing at all LOL

Just a suggestion for those with back trouble: making proper body mechanics a habit really helps...the spine was not designed to withstand the stress of twisting, especially while combined with lifting.
I hurt my back once, and that was enough - never again!
Hope you feel better soon, Dakota.

So what does it mean when your back goes out?

Do you flop over and become like a wet sponge or one of them waving arm air inflated things flopping all around?

I had my knee go out when I was in my 20's, I couldn't stand on it for two weeks - no pain but no knee. I was standing in line at the college book store and the next thing I know I'm on the floor unable to put any weight on the knee.

I Love readin ya'll posts...Ya'll crack me up...Yeah if I had any sort of credit I would possibly consider getting my own Sprinter...but I ruined my credit completely the summer I graduated high school back in 2004...So I have no option but to drive for someone!!! Kinda sucks but what can I do??? Lets see...I had 4 loads all of January...Louisville, KY to Allentown, Pa....then McElhatten, PA to Laredo, Texas and on the way I picked in Urbana, OH going to the same place in Laredo, TX...Then I ran a shorty from McAllen, TX to Laredo, TX and that was it for me...LOL wow I was begging for some more sleep!!! J/K  Maybe February will be a better month for me!!!

Extreme pain when moving, sitting, standing, laying down, difficulty in walking. Sometimes it's hard to stand up straight. That is what it means LOL

OH I call it extreme back pain, which is what I have right now. can't sit for long, can't stand for long and can't take a thing for it. It seems to be akin to the pain I experience with kidney stones but nothing as bad.

TJ, you also crack me up. I went through bankruptcy, I have very bad credit but even now I can find ways to get a van and get on the road. If you think you can't make money with a regular van, look around and talk to Jack or Chef or a lot of others because it doesn't have to be a sprinter.

I know it doesn't have to be a sprinter...but if I was to own my own thats what i'd prefer...But I do know that beggers cant be choosers...

Stuck in Roanoke for the weekend. We had over a foot of snow here. Have a load for tomorrow morning to Detroit. Hopefully the road clear enough to get to the interstate, otherwise my sprinter won't make it.

PS. Not to bad to be stuck in a place if you are stuck with some good friends. Had a lot of fun this weekend.
