Why is it a problem to put four days on one page ?
If they were off duty, and done properly, it used to be legal.

It seems to me that a lot of you guys really don't like the KY State Troopers and Highway Patrol, is it true or am I imagining things?

It is still legal. I use the DDL program to log and it will automatically put consecutive days off on one page. I've never had a problem showing that to an officer.

Predicted low here Mon night is 14 below. High winds, dangerous wind chill factors. High on Mon is predicted to be 6 above and Tues 2. Coldest we have since 2009. Even longer than that for consecutive days with highs in single digits. I THINK that was 1997 that last time that happened.

Ditch the cotton, wear proper layers if forced to be outside. If you don't know what you are doing in these kinds of temps stay inside. OJT is NOT the way to learn cold weather safety. If yo are not already prepared, it is likely too late now.

Remember windchill factor only effects humans not machinery. If the ambient is +30 your fuel or antifreeze is +30.

Air rushing at 70 mph across metal takes heat away so I would think that's a form of wind chill metal has no feelings though

last time a few years ago the Honda wouldn't run in -50 degrees....that little engine just could not generate enough heat, the oil thickened up enough not to circulate fast enough and the low oil sensor would shut it off....

OVM, do you remember what brand/type of oil you had in that Honda when it wouldn't start?

it was either the regular 10w 30 or 40....can't remember, now in cold like this I use my 0w40 it is like sewing machine oil....you can always change back when it warms up it s only about 3/4 of a quart...won't break the budget....

Too late. Forgot mine the other night and my generator didn't want to run higher RPMs. It had enough to heat my electric mattress pad but not my heater. I'm guessing I had a bit of fuel line freeze up when it was -0 in Michigan. I survived, with the help of my new 20 degree sleeping bag & that electric mattress pad. But crappy sleep, it was. Got me some Heet and gotta get that added to all the tanks.

the only reason I leave on Saturday is try to grab a Sunday load...it is the last day of the pay week...last time out I grabbed a HUGE paying load....but that is more of an exemption then the rule...why sit in -50, -60 for probably no reason....
