Was this the event at Ford Field in Detroit?
Correct.

If I remember correctly that event was a 'private' event that was going to take place in a much smaller venue. The Secret Service moved it to Ford Field at the last minute because they felt that they could not provide security at the original site.
Did you vet all the donors who supplied funding for the source that reported that ?

Or did you (for some odd reason, unbeknownst to us all here) just accept it at face value ?

In any event, your characterization appears to conflict with what was reported:

WaPo (and others) reported that the event was moved to Ford Field after two previous venues sold out and were judged as being too small to accommodate the number of people who wished to attend (and that number turned out to be around 1,200 apparently)

The security aspect came into play about where to hold within the Ford Field complex - the Atrium or the field itself - after the decision had already been made to move it to Ford Field.

No, I did NOT vet the sponsors that WJR has.

It makes no difference. Romney is going to win, Paul is not going too. Whether we like that or not, it is the reality. It was going to be that way long before this event took place.

I don't honestly really care. I don't like Romney, I don't like Paul. For me to vote for either would be settling on my part. I am tired of that. Neither one of them are fit for the job they seek. That is of course based on my experience, which is the ONLY experience that counts for me.

Well.......I think there is still Gary Johnson? Like many, no fan of Paul or Romney but it will likely come down to "anyone but Obama". Romney is going to need all the help he can get and that may not be enough.
