The good news is he said that he is only staying in the race to make sure Romney carries some conservative principles into the nomination.
Dave,

I'd personally like to thank you for posting on here .... it saves me from having to ever turn on Fox News .... and watch O'Reilly, The Five, or any of those other dolts deliver their talking points ....

It is somewhat more tolerable (and less malignant) just reading it ...

Ron Paul May Not Endorse Eventual Republican Nominee

Think he is packing it in with very limited appearances.
Yeah ... try Googling "Ron Paul Chico video" or "Ron Paul UCLA video" .... these appearances are limited .... apparently by the size of venue ......

As least his family made some good money in the process.
Ahhh ...... you consider $12,500 per year .... good money ?

(.... Drivers take note ...)

Nope ... not necessarily ....

People may not support Dr. Paul because they are against the philosophy he espouses and stands for .... or any other number of reasons that one could possibly imagine ....

I recall one (so-called) "conservative" on here arguing (essentially) that a strict adherence to the Constitution was not a good thing .... apparently because this individual had such a low regard for the Founding Fathers as to believe them to be a bunch of dolts ....

Of course, that's actually a viewpoint that comes straight from The Left ... there is nothing whatsoever "conservative" about it ....

This sort of thing happens (IMNSHO) when one fails to understand the fundamental truths (which transcend time and place) that the document is based on ...

One also has a certain contingent of the populace who are utterly terrified by their fellow citizens .... and their fellow man generally .... these folks span the political divide and exist on both the Left and the Right ....

Those on the (extreme) Left want to take away all guns and engage in some sort of super-control of the economic activities (and to a lesser degree the social activities) of the citizens, making them wards of, and dependent on, the State ....

Those on the (extreme) Right see bogeymen everywhere - generally they tend to be "law and order" types, who will willingly lick the boots of anything in a uniform, and prefer a super-control of the social activities (and to a lesser degree the economic activities) of the citizens ....

Both are largely motivated by fear .... and will often excuse all manner of violations of the Constitution and the rule of law - provided that such violations comport with the ends they seek to achieve ....

They are actually more alike than they are different ....

Interestingly, in that vein, this very same individual referred to above could never even bring himself to acknowledge that the United States has ever "meddled" abroad .... apparently all such activities were, and are, always entirely justified ....

Again, this ideological viewpoint is straight out of Wilsonian Liberal Internationalism .... there's not a thing conservative about it ...

Anyone is certainly entitled to espouse whatever political ideologies they care to .... however, I for one would certainly appreciate it if folks who hold such views didn't try to pass themselves off as "conservative" .... they ain't, and no amount of whitewashing or self-serving propaganda will ever change that fact ....

It's really quite analogous to situation we have with Obama .... he will claim he isn't a socialist (or communist) all day long .... however that don't make it so ....

At least be honest about it .... just say proudly: "I'm a neo-con" ....

For pete's sake, do the right thing and own it .... and all the historical, intellectual, and ideological baggage that goes along with it ....

Surely true ... in many cases for quite obvious reasons ...

Other times, not so much ....

Well, yes .... there is that .... ;)

One does have to weigh it, among other things, in the balance.

And apparently, increasingly, people are:

Crowd capacity doesn't mean much if he can't get them to vote.

And you really think it is 12,500 a year. Only until he gets out of the race. Then they get their bonus. You don't think they are going to send those contributions they don't spend back do you?

While I agree with Paul on almost all of his domestic policy. His foreign policy scares the bajibee's outta me.
See my comments above ....

Now .... try imagining what it would actually be like to live without being in a constant state of perpetual fear ....

I hope someone puts Paul in charge of the fed.. Now that would be fun and entertaining.. (and much needed)
It is (needed) .... and would be (entertaining) indeed ;)

And just for some cheap entertainment courtesy of Fox News for those that fear to watch, they are reporting that Ron Paul has only completed one appearance in the last eighteen days. Yup....it is surely winding down for Paul or they might have just made that up and made every other network report the same. Conspiracy?

Why, because he will follow the Constitution and only go to war when Congress declares it? Or he won't have our troops running around the world policing it? Or he just might try and work with other nations in resolving problems diplomatically?

I am convinced people in here really think the President has all the power and can do just whatever they think they can, all nilly-willy. If that was the case, we would be living under Sharia Law, all our guns and bulletts would've been taken away, we would have Islam as our national religion and whatever else scares the bejeebus out old white guys. For God's sakes!

I suspect some were paid more ... and some were paid less ... probably commensurate with their duties and time spent ...

Only until he gets out of the race. Then they get their bonus.
You have anything in the historical record to indicate that that would be the case and to back that up ?

Or are you just engaging in (yet another) baseless smear ?

Based on past history, anything leftover will be used as seed money to further the cause of educating folks about the cause of personal freedom, the rule of law, and strict Constitutionalism ....

BTW - I don't begrudge a worker being paid their due .... to do otherwise is sorta a lefty thing, if'n ya get my drift .....

You don't think they are going to send those contributions they don't spend back do you?
I would certainly hope not .... and I suspect most others who contributed would likely feel the same way ....

Your comments seem to predicated on a rather narrow view of only the current race .... rather than the larger cause ....

"Seed money"....I like that. I think John Edwards called it the same thing. There is a good look at where that extra campaign cash goes.

No fear ... it's more like disgust or revulsion ....

I like to stay clean .... having to shower multiple times per day just doesn't float my boat ....

Well, considering that he appeared in UCLA yesterday (record crowd - estimated at over 7,800), and CSU Chico a day or so before that (over 4,000) ... it ought to shed a little light (at least for the more observant among us) that one cannot necessarily assume that what is reported in "the media" is always accurate ....

He also "appeared" on Fox News on Cavuto yesterday, on CBS on Face The Nation last Sunday, and on Leno back on the 20th ...

He is also scheduled to appear in San Francisco and UC Berkley (where no other Republican would dare to go) today.

Yup....it is surely winding down for Paul or they might have just made that up and made every other network report the same. Conspiracy?
Nope ... just a ill-advised reliance by some on the MSM ... undoubtedly because it's their preferred "flavor" ....

Entertaining indeed .....

Dave,

Is this what you've been reduced to ..... the logical fallacy of ad hominem attacks, using implication and "guilt by association" ? (.... an association which could be described as tenuous at best ...)

You're definitely off your game today ....

Almost as if he's trying to fill someone else's shoes if you will?

Comes up waaaayyyyy short in my opinion. Can't blame a guy for tryin' though.

It seems as if Coulter's prediction couldn't have been more accurate;
Yup ....

Here's another prediction; if the GOP keeps it up and they're not careful, they'll lose the majority in the House as well.
This is a distinct possibility .... and I wouldn't be totally surprised if it were to occur ....

But do keep in mind that most of the GOP kool-aid drinkers reading here are so imbued with their own seething hatred of Obama and the left/liberals that this will likely fall on very deaf ears ....

There's a very good reason why it's called blind rage .... one doesn't have to look far around here to find it aplenty ....

Naw....not political enough, but do get a good laugh out of those koolaid drinkers that think somehow Ron Paul is going to win the nomination. Have to win something first and that hasn't happened.

Ron Paul supporters kool-aid drinkers? Just the opposite if you ask me.

Unless that kool-aid is flavored with the Constitution.

Well, I have much respect for anyone who supports a guy that is principled and is not beholden to special interests. Much more respect than those that just regurgitate talking points from FoxNews and conservitive talk show hosts who have to answer to their corportate stock holders.

Ahhh but Witness .... dontcha know ? ...... Faux News was vindicated .... completely ..... when an appeals court ruled that falsifying "news" is not against the law:
