No, but I met someone who drives a yellow box and his van is a testament to the lack of a safety department at his carrier - which will go unmentioned.

I believe that if you are not required to have a CDL to drive a van then why waste the money. As far as scales go If you van looks like a rolling billboard for an expediting company then follow the advice that Terry gave in post 5. If on the other hand you have no markings at all on your van then do not worry about scales. I use a window van with no markings and never stop at scales.

I have been with Prestige since mid July, not the best time to start in this business, but I actually did ok those first couple weeks. I like the way they do things for the most part, but things have been rather up and down lately, a whole lot of sitting. I've been getting some decent runs, but I kind of wish they would do more than just NLM.

I have a small sign on each side of the van. I cover the signs up when I'm going through states that require vans to stop at scales. It also saves me a little bit of toll money in states that charge more for any commercial vehicles.
