In no particular order
Fed EX CC
Landstar
Panther
Tri State
Express 1
and maybe Dynamex. Much of their stuff is courier in many markets rather than expedite. hard to tell on them.

I would have to agree with Dave, but I think Panther is bigger than Landstar as far as expediting.

As far as Dot reports

FedEx has 1398 units with 2441 drivers.

Panther has 912 units with 1400 drivers.

Tri-State has 558 units with 801 drivers

LandStar has 398 units with 523 drivers.

Express 1 has 212 units with 275 drivers.

Check it out yourself at.

These are the facts.

I can assure you DX does not have that many EXPEDITE trucks...The West division is their expedite division U.S. Plated..The East includes ALL Expedite AND Courier ...
They aren't even in the picture...

Must be a time lag with companies reporting and the posting...

At Express 1 load planning has a target of 250 loads/ day...and they told me they are over 300 units now...
How can you target 250 when you only have 212...somethings amiss.

BTW..I was told that the end of year target is 500 units.

In 5 years at DX never ever seen a company truck...always thought they were like P2...and didn't even own their shirt.

So they run this web site where the info is completely useless??
Is it government sponsored or funded?

FMCSA.....

It is useful, just not exact as far as numbers go. You have to update it within so much time if your info changes, ie. address, insurance and such.

Here's the other search engine they have. You can make sure that any carrier OR broker is legitimate and their insurance or bond is intact:

The Info was just updated by DOT. Look at the last in house in inspection. It tells when it was last updated.

Bruno...The DOT maybe update BUT it can only post what info they have..IF a carrier hasn't submitted for the last year or more it's sort of redundant.
