I don't know how I missed this yesterday . There is a Yogi Bear campground in Sturbridge on the other side of I-84 . If you had known about it before you stopped at the Pilot you could have had a more enjoyable weekend . Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp Resort in Sturbridge, MA . They may have changed the laws but I know it was once illegal to sleep overnight in trucks in Sturbridge .

Whenever I'm in the northeast, I always seem to find something that's going close to home. When I'm in Texas, it usually takes a couple loads to get close. I live in a decent freight area and I usually get home a lot. I'm kind of spoiled that way. When I don't get back for a while, I get restless, not to mention missing my wife.

not a lot of riff raff like on 20 ..... and there a lot of nice places to eat.
taco cabanan has awsome breakfast tacos.....
soul mans barb q is great.....
salt grass steak house has the best steaks around.....
Braums has the best ice cream and burgers..... lol
let see...... there's a wal mart there on other side of highway......
oh and bass pro shop there by the lake is fantastic..... i been there a ahh a lot.... lol
ya know.... i think im getting a hankering for some Tea

I'm in a Sprinter and I usually hang out at the J on I-20. Only free showers for van drivers. You'd think the other truck stop chains would get on that bandwagon. I don't eat out much on the road. I do like Texas Land & Cattle, but a lot of times I will buy some meat and charcoal and find a park with grills. That's what I did yesterday. I grilled enough meat for about a week.

i use to go to that J .. to many druggies and lot lizards for me....... and yes them drugg lizards even try to hit on me........ im like .. GOO away .... pleaz. eewwwwwwwwwwwww
and u can sit there and watch them and there pimps .. strolling up and down the side walks there..... by the street.....
one time a driver was found shot to death ....... while his team partner was snoozin......
all i can think of is ..... the guy who got shot.... was somewhere he shouldnt of been.... dealing that dope.
there was a huge write in a local paper there .what goes on at them 3 truck stps .....

ok well...... im still sitting........ we had 4 trucks.... i was no 1 ..
and 1 team and 3 solos....... the team truck is gone off the boards.... *sigh*

Just a slow day everywhere I guess. I'm independent and I'm not seeing much of anything anywhere. Load boards are slow and brokers just have cheap junk. I was trying to haggle to get a bit more money from a broker and after a while it became evident that I wasn't going to get anywhere. She said, "This load is paying by the pallet." I replied, "It doesn't matter how many pallets, they still have to travel the same number of miles and a driver's expenses are based on miles, not number of pallets." She just said, "I understand, but that's all the shipper wants to pay." She should have said, "That's all we want to give you out of what we are getting from the shipper."
I don't know what got into me. I normally don't smart off like that. I guess it's the heat. But smarting off or not, it's the truth and maybe she needed to hear it.

i got this load offer..... dh .. 101 miles.. an then going 55 miles with the load..
surchage was something like 3.65
um like ??????????? are u guys crazy or what??? ok with a 1st out....
so it was gonna go down to someplace in NY south of albany.... ok
i went to accept it and it would not send me directions right away ..... so i accpeted it again....
soo then i called..... and the promps never went into saying........
we notice your under a load......... it just went to the reg stuff......
soo ok i hit 2 for driver hotline...........
asked the girl about it ....... she checked .. then put me on hold..... then came bk said there was an error....... but u can have 1st out and move and stil keep ur 1st out.
sooooooooo now,... im in waterbury CT .. had dinner and took a shower.... chatted with some nice couple whom team drive in a big red KW ...... and now im tired. heh
sooooo i didnt get very far.

Dallas seems to be the popular hang out tonight. I'm parked next to Turtle over at the J. Maybe we could get everyone here by the end of the week if things stay slow.

No no no... u guys got it all wrong. U take the QC (keyboard and bubble) off the truck and leave it in your parking space till u get back. That way ur saving that good parking spot. I don't have QC, but wouldn't the company have a problem with u unhooking the QC ? Guess u could just claim being under a tree or indoors like a shop or truck wash. Oh I know, what if you just put alum foil over the bubble. Would that work ? I may need to know someday.
