Hello! My boyfriend is stuck on I40 W, almost to Brinkley and I am just trying to figure out what is going on. Can he get back on I40 at Little Rock? He is going to OKC. I hope the detour is posted, but he says traffic is at a standstill.....anybody on I40 right now? Or close to MM 202?

I actually haven't seen any reports on this, but I can tell you that this will not likely go away by tomorrow. I live in northern AR and all I can tell you is there is A LOT of water headed south. You will definitely want to have an alternate route planned.

we were thru there yesterday. water on the wb side(pix to come later). traffic was routed off at the 216mm and was backed up 8 miles at that time.

if you are coming from the north try going thru poplar bluff when coming off 57 then heading sw down 67 to little rock. same thing if you are headed north.

Hwy 67 is currently closed about 20 miles south of the MO border (Pocahontas, AR... my home). You have to detour about 30 miles around it. I think it will re-open over the weekend sometime if there isn't any road damage.

Anywhere in eastern AR is gonna be a gamble over the next week or so as it all moves south.

Depending on where you are and where your going, I would consider I-44 and I-70 through MO. If your running to TX, you can drop south through OK on 69/75. Depending on the run, it can be pretty close on the miles and decent roads.

I just been over there... darn it... it's been indeed 100 miles detour, but I lost 6 hrs during that detour... if you can, stay away from Arkansas!

Reports are the river isn't even at its highest for yet another week...????

About right probably. The northern half of the state is about out of the woods as far as water. It's clean up time up here now. But all of that water is headed for the Mississippi + all of the water coming from the St. Louis area. I think this will be in the news for a while yet....all the way to the gulf.

I don't know enough about how the water moves south, but I think we may see major problems in New Orleans?

thursday the police were going door to door in memphis ordering people out of their homes. not warning them of imminent flooding but ordering them out.

the more it rains up north the harder it is down south.
