How is your week?

Has everyone been having a bad week? I was thinking it might be the holiday because everything for us just stopped dead on Tuesday. I had a potential load this evening going from St. Louis to St. Louis but it looks like it fell through.

Hopefully it is just the holiday that cut things down. I hope we get a long load tomorrow or it will be a negative paycheck.

I gotcha all beat!

Last Thursday: picked up new old truck in NC to bring back to MI.
Friday: replaced both steers.
Saturday: broke down in Upper Sandusky, OH... water pump idler pulley froze.
Sunday: wife brought down part... wrong part.
Monday: went to Toledo to get part... $250. Replaced part... labor, tow, and service truck totaled over $800. Got it home.
Wednesday: took truck to get signed on at company. Truck sputters and dies 1/2 mi after leaving. Towed to Wolverine FL (yay!).
Today: FL calls and asks, "What's the deal with this truck?" I tell him, "You have it there. You tell me."

Geniuses. :p

The start of the week was slow because of the holiday both here and in Canada...didn't get my 1st run until Tues afternoon...then got another weds morning...nothing since. Less than 800 miles, but over $1000 in pay...so nothing good miles wise, but good pay for the miles run...

Sitting in Bordentown, NJ..if nothing comes by fri evening, I'll be DH'ing to Hagertown to have a Steak dinner at a friends place....

Slow. Hit a cow Tuesday AM. Out of commission for the next few weeks.

All other close FDCC-ers report very busy with predispatches right after their current run as the norm. Ours was as well, prior to the bovine collision.

S**t happens. In our case, it landed on top of the sleeper.

Alright... I don't have you beat. At least your insurance covers it tho.

That's a pretty big ouch - it didn't land in the sleeper, at least - that would have been too weird for words.
Hope you're back in business soon.

Wow...your lucky. I would just be thankful it didn't come through the windshield.

My week has been decent. KC to Chicago monday. Then a package deal of Chicago to Hannibal, Mo to Beloit, WI area then back to KC. In all, about 1400 loaded miles and 475 empty but the empty miles were paid well in the deal. Hoping for a nice weekend run now. Believe it or not, KC is generally decent for us.

I did catch a cold while in KC last wknd...thinkin I'm gonna try to return it while I'm here.

Not particuarly happy with this week. Did a long run from Tacoma, WA to San Antonio, TX at a marginal rate and we're still in San Antonio now. I'm not blaming our carrier or the freight. Load selection blunders put us where we are.

Taking the load to San Antiono may have been a mistake. We might have done better by passing on it and waiting up there. The marginal load we declined yesterday that would have gotten us out of San Antonio looks better today.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I've often seconded guessed my decisions...but if it was a good decision yesterday based on criteria, it is the same today...as we always say monthly performance is more a measure then weekly... There is a time to roll and a time to stay put....

Just completed our 2nd long load of the week. From San Antonio  to Philadelphia. (A White Glove load that we were pre-dispatched on.) First load was from north of Minneapolis to Laredo.

Heading to our third load, picks up in northern Virginia, delivers in Baltimore on Monday morning. Also a WG load, and gives us a less than 75 for Monday. If that really means anything. ;)

A little over 3500 loaded miles for the week.
