Looking for Guido at the Laredo State Park. First time here...nice place! Good alternative to the TA, especially since we cannot run our gen right now. The rocket surgeon who PM'd it broke the plastic tip of the dipstick off in the sump. I see a fight with the shop coming over this one...

At home for the weekend.

Hey Guido, Time to check on the mouse.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

You have got to be kidding me. The mouse that levitates over glue traps, has now ate all the peanut butter off of two traps. They look like they were licked clean. I could find no trace that there was ever peanut butter on the trap! I lightly touch them with a broom handle and SNAP! WTH? I suppose next I'll find out it's also immuned to the d-Con

Space #122 or 123 is the best one, as it is close, right next to showerhouse/bathrooms, and generally quiet. The fact that the showers are so nice and modern there, with hardly any wait or even anyone there to bother you. I only saw one spider there, in the shower stall, with a leg span of about 6 inches and furry. No snakes were present. That lake is where Laredo gets their water from, and is about 1,500 acres big, from what I have heard. It also is a natural bird sanctuary. Pretty neat. It is so much cooler there than at the truck stops.Worth every bit of the money spent there, IMO...

Good evening gang. Hope everyone is doing well and the wheels are turning more than not.

It was a pretty good week, for me - though I didn't think so when it started. I bit into some seriously crispy chicken Sun night and broke a tooth. Couldn't do much about it, with a pickup scheduled early Monday morning for delivery 500 miles away, but Tom was kind enough to find a dentist for me. Got it fixed Tues, [if you ever need a dentist in Franklin, Ky, pm me - he is terrific!] and back in service. A pretty good load every day, no complaints!
Even after finding the freight I went to pick up this morning left yesterday, it's still been a good week - got another load onboard now. And the rain has stopped, so I'm off again, hoping everyone else is having a nice time, too.
Especially Mrs Nappy. ;)

We had sleet this morning, so I would have to say fall is a no show so far.

Friday afternoon I deadheaded from Cincinnati to Indianapolis to pick up a load from the aircraft maintenance facility at the airport, and then "leisurely" drove it to the aircraft maintenance facility at the airport in Spokane. That was a hike.

Because seeing the whole 48 was a big attraction for me, I'm glad I got to go to the west coast already, now that I never do anymore. Idaho, the Columbia River, even California, are places I'm happy to have seen. Washington and Oregon are high on the list of scenery that's not to be missed!

I really like coming out west every now and then. It certainly breaks up the monotony of running the Midwest. Everyone should at least once get to see the Idaho Panhandle driving through Coeur D'Aline, The Columbia River Gorge coming out or Portland, and that little snippet of northwest Arizona on I-15 between St George, UT and Las Vegas, NV.
